Is Kelly Ripa A Hypocrite???
Kelly Ripa made a stink several months back when Clay Aiken co-hosted Live with Regis & Kelly and (in a failed attempt to be funny) covered her mouth with his hand.
"I don't know where that hand has been," shouted Ripa to the Gayken.
Her comments drew much controversy, and she eventually called in to The View to defend herself, saying that she has three kids and was concerned about germs.
Interesting thing happened, though.
On Monday, July 9th's episode race car driver Jeff Gordon was the co-host.
He accidentally drinks from her cup and apologizes. Her response? "Oh, that's ok," as she takes a sip.
So Gayken's hand is too germy, but Jeff Gordon's spit is just fine?
Seems like a double standard to us.

actually when kelly made this comment it was during the height of flu season, most commonly people who are sick in the summer, is just sick with allergies, which is not contagious. love ya' perez

here is a thought, could Kelly Ripa have possibly restrained herself from mentioning anything about germs after the cup sipping incident because of the over-dramatic response she recieved for making a cheeky comment about where Clays hand has been? As for Kelly being a hyprocrite, she is the HOST of the show, not a guest host, it was just plain rude of Clay to put his hand over her mouth and she had a right to say more than what she did. um…hello…if anyone watched the show every now and again you'll hear her talk about Jeff Gordon & her husband Mark being very good friends. The two guys have been friends for a while so I'm sure that its just that she has a personal friendship with him. its not that she prefers one persons germs over the next.
If anybody ever watched the show you'd know that her husband Mark and Jeff Gordon are close friends and have been for several years. It has nothing to do with prefering one persons germs over another…i'm sure its just that she knows Jeff (a friend of the family) more personally than Clay…who is not a friend of her family.

Actually, I was watching a rerun show when I saw Regis put his hand over Kelly's mouth and she brushed it off like it was no big deal. So her actions speak volumes.

Clay needs to recognize boundaries—i.e.foot on someone's armrest on the plane, hand over someone's mouth! drinking from someone's cup & a hand over the mouth—completely different. I saw him assult Kelly & thought it was the single most rude act I've seen on TV.
