Nevermind the children of Afghanistan, who got ZERO help from the media after UNICEF appealed for interest in that story.
Thank God for Entertainment Tonight! They were the only major outlet at all to care about the needs of those kids!If I were the desperate and threatened children of northern Uganda, who also have gotten almost no attention from the press (again, with the same exception of ET), I would be upset and dismayed that a stupid celebrity non-story is the top story on most news sites today. Meanwhile, at this very moment in northern Uganda, over forty thousand children are sleeping in city streets to protect themselves from being raped and tortured, yet no one mentions them.
Then again, as much as the media seems to screw up the actual facts in a situation, maybe they're better off anyway.

If the Clay haters want to do anything other than spew their filthy vitriol and wholly uninformed comments about what Clay does to help children, they can check out his Bubel/Aiken Foundation (bubelaiken.org) to learn how he helps disadvantaged children in the US, and UNICEF (unicefusa.or) to learn how he helps disadvantaged children in other parts of the world (including Uganda) (search his name on their web site). Clay's humanitarian work, at such a young age, has been extraordinary. He has stated repeatedly that he considers this work, rather than his musical career, to be his most important work. He devotes several months out of each year to pursuing his numerous charitable activities–which is why you don't hear about him in the entertainment news year round. If we all contributed as much to the well-being of others as Clay does, this would indeed be a better and more civil world.
