Who Will Be The New View Co-Host????
Inside sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Barbara is going to hire two new co-hosts for The View this coming season. After all, when Star and Meredith left last season, they only brought in one new co-host, Rosie.
Many names have been tossed in the air as possible candidates, and now one of those - Kathy Griffin - is talking quite candidly about her chances of getting on the show permanently.
"They (the producers of The View) are not throwing piles of money at me," Griffin tells the Toronto Sun. "They're not begging. I love when you hear these actresses say, 'The producer literally got on his knees and opened a briefcase full of money.' With me, no. It's like, ehhhh, they might, they might not, if they do they don't want me to talk so much. Believe me, there are a lot of provisions. But I don't know anything. I honestly don't know if they know what they want at this point. It would be a fun gig. But I'm not sure. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Honestly, I don't think they're going to come up with the Griffin dollars. But I'm happy to go and check it out and see what they want. I've done The View a bunch of times and it's a very fun show to do."
Kathy would be good for The View.

Kathy would totally revive that pre menaposal show! it needs some life and I would totally start watching if she were on it!! Kathy is very witty and completly up to date on current events and willing to speak her left wing oppinion! (which the view totally needs since rosies departure!)

Although I adore Kathy, I don't understand her even considering an offer from The View, as her entire act is based on the premise that, "I'm an outsider, just like you, in the world of celebrity" and therefore can poke fun at our obsession with celebrity and the degrees of fame. Kathy's joining the cast of The View would seriously compromise her "outsider credibility" and she could easily become one of "them". It's a slippery slope.

I know nothing about the business of TV, but I do know that the only thing that made The View worthwhile was Rosie. Now Rosie is gone. Joy is greatness, but she can't carry a show. Everyone else at the table is so freakin' boring…Babs is a living legend- but she keeps too tight of a leash, and Elizabeth is from another planet. Why can't all the fun people (Rosie, Kathy, Ross the Intern, P-nasty, & Joy) start their own show? Why does everyone want to be at Bab's boring table? Why can't the fun people get a table of their own?

To improve ratings, they should concentrate on getting rid of Elizabeth INSTEAD of bringing in a new person. I stopped watching it now that Rosie's gone. OMG! I love Kathy! She is exactly what they need. Joy's pretty good at speaking her mind, but Kathy is soooo much better because she's younger and yeah, she talks about celebrities, but who gives a damn? It's all in good fun! I think Kathy Griffin is really funny, offbeat and isn't quite as off-kilter as Rosie. Rosie just has too many issues and she started making the View her own personal soapbox - and that is not what the View is supposed to be. I'm glad she's outta there.
