So we just got a phone call from Avril Lavigne. We told her we wouldn't talk about it. Ooops!
Apparently she called the assistant of a mutual friend of ours and got Perez's number that way.
"I just wanted to reach out to you directly, instead of you hearing from my manager or publicist," she told us. Nice. We respect that.

It seems like you have a perverse sense of reality. All of your effort could be doing something useful. This is all just a big waste of time. No wonder the Islamists see us as corrupted.
1.) While I agree that your "reviews" can be scathing– Avril has got to get a thicker skin and learn to deal with all types of criticism.
2.) The two songs (the bit with Peaches) sound alarmingly similar. Avril should probably explain that publically instead of calling you to whine about how you are being mean. That would certainly get her more respect from the public.
3.) Chantal did retract her statement, but I have read some posts on here (namely by a kid named Alex I believe) that said that Chantal's career wasn't "going anywhere".
Excuse me, but I must correct that error in facts. Chantal has had at least 2 (perhaps more in Canada) widely purchased and listened to CD's. Her career is just fine, and she has chosen to lend her talents to Avril and others like her in order to HELP them. Granted, this latest slip of the tongue/lapse in judgement almost got her sued. However, I think with Chantal's unfortunate comment, then the 70's band issue, and now this Peaches issue– Avril is just going to have to roll with the punches and display her work for all to scrutinize.
The way I see it is if she is completely innocent and/or has some arrangement with peaches (she obviously had previous working record with Chantal which served to help patch things up there) she needs to realize that people are looking at her very closely. Rather than whine about how the media is mean (let's call vipers– even glamourously funny and put-together media vipers such as yourself Mr. Hilton– what they are). She should put her money where her music is and hold some sort of open demonstration and/or public inquiry about her songwriting abilities.
Better yet– she should sit down and pen a rough version of an original piece. Produce it herself (everyone has their moment of truth in the business) and then release it. That's a sure-fire way to get a distilled version of pure Avril-Lavigne-ness.
Just food for thought.
