I don't have any problem with his movies except that he calls them documentaries without holding himself to the same ethical standards as other documentary filmmakers. It's as if Perez was calling himself an "investigatory journalist" - that would be misleading. There is nothing wrong with making entertaining films *inspired* by documentary format, or with writing a gossip column. The problem is when people claim a position of authority that they have not earned. Unfortunately the gullible and reactionary public allows itself to be frequently mislead, and Moore is one of the most visible and influential people contributing to this problem.

I am a single parent working full time my child has state covered insurance but as for me my job offers insurance but I cant afford it. I have to put food on the table, a roof over our head and make sure my child has clothes to wear. I do get help from the father but this documentary should expose this countries need for a better health care system. I recently went to the hospital with sever kidney pains and i got my bill and you know what I AINT PAYING IT BECAUSE IF THIS WERE CANADA I WONT HAVE TO WORRY and SINCE WE ARE THE RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WHY SHOULD I.

I actually know that guy who wrote the article and the book. His brother Ron is a sports writer for the Chicago Sun times. I used to work with Roger. It's just my opinion, but the guy is not somebody who I'd trust to write either a good or accurate book. Doing this is just an easy way to get press.
I have always said that NONE of his movies are documentaries or factual. Remember, this man is the writer and director and will always slant the movie to his view.

Canada as the model for health care? Is Moore serious? 45 minute wait times? Try anywhere up to 8 hours. We have people lying around waiting in the hallways of our emergency rooms. Google "Canada Hallway Medicine". All our best doctors head straight for the USA after they graduate. Many Canadians head south for medical care if they can afford it. We have emergency rooms in danger of closing because of a shortage of doctors. Free healthcare in Canada? Healthcare is taking up to HALF of our provincial budgets and is growing faster than taxpayers' wages. In a few years at these rates, we won't be able to afford anything OTHER than healthcare - no roads, schools, etc. Don't even get me started on how powerful the Nurses' unions are.

CC is right!!! If people took some personal responsibility in this country there would be no "health care crisis". People are required to have car insurance and they should be required to carry (at the minimun) basic health care insurance. No one wants to take responsibility for themselves any more. They want to be fat and sedentary and smoke and live to be 100. You can do that in America because of the health care we have.
