Gwen Stefani is mad…..suing mad!
The singer and designer has filed a lawsuit against retail chain Forever 21, PerezHilton.com has learned.
In the suit, filed in Los Angeles, Stefani claims that Forever 21 has stolen designs from her Harajku Lovers and L.A.M.B. clothing lines.
Being fashionable can get quite ugly!

The designs used are almost identical to her logos for HL. I have seen a jacket and some tops that look just like items from her line. I wish her the best. It is not fair when people work hard and others think it is okay to steal.

Seeing that this story was posted earlier on the NDC, it makes us wonder whether or not you have taken yet another persons information and failed to state your source. This also happened a while back with pictures from the No Doubt reunion encore at Gwen's concert.
The least you could do is ask permission to take and tag the pictures and credit your sources. Last thing you want is another lawsuit…right?

none of the celeb "designers" actually do any of the designing. companies hire teams of designers who talk briefly to the celeb and show them their sketches. the celebs give minimal feedback but their name is plastered on it and they are the spokesperson because that's what the mostly clueless public wants. it's called marketing. forever 21 is one of many cheap knock-off stores that sell…cheap knock-offs. how many idiots buy ugly crap because it has gwen's, jessica's, or, worst of all, jlo's name on it? i'm sure britney's degree in chemistry really helped her develop her perfume, right?

but…out of everything she's ever done in the past 12 years that I've followered her, I have to disagree with this. Every single company from the top down rips off another designer. Nothing is sacred in fashion. You can not copyright fashion. Now, that being said, you can copyright designs and artwork, but not a particular silhouette or style, as fashion from the dawn of time has been recreated over and over.
I haven't seen the clothing, as we only have one Forever 21 here in Toronto, and I've only been once, but if they are blatantly ripping off her trademark artwork, then by all means, I'm on her side, but if it's just silhouettes and trends, then I say she has no shot in hell.

This has already tried to been brought to court, but it is deemed that a trend style can be at hundreds of stores. A trend is an inspiration from the designers collections. She will never win, unless they
A.) used her name falsely
B.) used trademark or copyrighted symbols that are indicitve of the L.A.M.B or Harajuku line

Gwen does not have other people design for her L.A.M.B. She started up the company with two other designers, one being her longtime stylist and the other a fellow designer. They all work together as a team to create the designs for L.A.M.B. However, one of the designers left. She does not even include her name anywhere on the clothing. She is the sole creator of the company, and has always wanted to do this. Unfortuntely, a lot of pop stars get in the business so it makes everyone feel like everyone is doing it. Harajuku Lovers was/is a fun clothing line she did for the fans to go along with her album….both just being guilty pleasure and not meant to be taken seriously. Harajuku Lovers mostly goes with her albums with all the words and characters, and includes accessories for her fans. L.A.M.B. is more of a full blown fashion line. Gwen did L.A.M.B. for herself, and doesn't care if people don't like the designs as long as she's happy with her and her team's work. Gwen does sew, and has sewn up things for her fashion shows. L.A.M.B. nor Gwen Stefani alone is suing Forever 21. Her Harajuku Lovers company is the one handling the case. I don't think Gwen cares about the money.

Forever 21 is not the only store that has ripped off her clothing lines, if you go into WetSeal they too have ripped her off. They have the giraffe love T-shirt and it says this love is serious and where the is is the giraffes haad is covering it and under that it says whats the question. Also Walmart and Aeropostale have copied her line. Aero copied a T-shirt and Walmart copied an HL bag.

Well in fact, to be honest, every designers copied from other designers design. It is so impossible to come out with unique design for every season. These designers probably be lying if they deny this. Well, if not, they probably, have copied at least once..
So, I've been to Forever 21 (Singapore) and I tell you what, their clothes are so fucking disgusting. I find it ugly. It is like they really do not have a theme for their clothing line. It was all in a mess, really.

This lawsuit sounds absolutely ridiculous. Forever 21's entire concept is to sell similar styles of what is popular at lower prices, and they make it convenient for teenagers to stay on top of fashion while affording all the new styles. None of their items are identical replicas nor say the brand name. Gwen Stefani's line isnt the first that stores in the mall have had inspiration from. She needs to step down from her pedastal, and continue to direct her higher quality label towards those who can afford it. Its not like she's losing business, if the 13 year old forever 21 shoppers with 20bucks in their pockets dont care about the lower quality clothes, then they arent very likely to shell out triple the price for her line. The cliental that shop her line arent going anywhere. So dont screw it up for everyone else.
