Steroids were found in the body of murderer Chris Benoit.
Not only that, but Xanax (and anti-anxiety drug) and hydrocodone (a painkiller) were also found in his system, according to toxicology results released on Tuesday.
The body of the former wrestler's wife, Nancy Benoit, also had Xanax, hydrocodone and hydromporphone in its system.
Their young son, Daniel, also had Xanax in his system at the time of his murder.

Regardless of whether the drugs were "legitimate" or not, they were abused, and the drugs mixed with an unstable person resulted in three deaths. It's tragic.

Look at the size of his neck…how hard was it for him to hang himself? Do you think it took a very long time because his neck is so muscular? I think steriods had something to do with his actions. Steriods lower testosterone in men, and men with lower levels of testostersone show more examples of aggresive behavior, contrary to popular beliefs. And I'm sick of the stupid WWF people saying steriods had NOTHING to do with this…because most likely it did.

Yeah I love how every posting about this is just saying that they did find steroid in his system. Like it confirms everything that has been predicted about his steroid use. There are other facts that need to be included, like there were normal amounts found and that the toxicologist decided that due to the amount of the testosterone steroid that they were not the cause of any of the deaths. actually i meant that testosterone doesn't alter your behavior like they are saying, i.e. rage inducing, etc. i am well aware of the normal physiological effects of testosterone when the body produces it on its own. these people were referring to being amped on testosterone causing anger. and i never use wikipedia, its incredibly inaccurate. i learned this stuff the old fashioned way, college and grad school.

They didn't find ANY steroids in his system (which surprised me), they found an intake of testosterone.

Look I've been a wrestling fan for a while now, and a huge fan of Benoits, I'm still in shock of what happened and I don't think anybody will ever truley know why it did, it just makes me sick that many ignorant people out there just blame everything on Steroids. Professional Wrestling is a great buisness that creates heros not monsters, what happened at the Benoit residence that fateful weekend was not something that was going thorough his veins it was what Chris Benoit had going on inside his head that had probably been built up for years that finally snapped. So give the WWE a break, they just lost one of wrestlings all time greats not to metion his legacy.
