Steroids were found in the body of murderer Chris Benoit.
Not only that, but Xanax (and anti-anxiety drug) and hydrocodone (a painkiller) were also found in his system, according to toxicology results released on Tuesday.
The body of the former wrestler's wife, Nancy Benoit, also had Xanax, hydrocodone and hydromporphone in its system.
Their young son, Daniel, also had Xanax in his system at the time of his murder.

To all the people accusing Perez of saying that anabolic steroids were found in Chris Benoit's toxicology reports…
…he did NOT say that!
What he said was that steriods were found in his body. And that is accurate: testosterone *IS* A STEROID. And in fact, it was not found at normal levels natually produced by the human body: there were 207 micrograms of testosterone per litre found in his urine ("normal" is less than 150), and his testosterone/epitestosterone ratio was 59 ("normal" would be 6. 59 is waaay above normal.) The results led to the conclusion that natural testosterone was indeed being injected by Mr. Benoit. Anabolic steroids are merely synthetic versions of testosterone — created to replicate the effects of testosterone. Synthetics were *not* found in his system.

His test came back at 10-15 times the amount that is considered in the normal range. So unless he had 20-30 testicles this is bad.
Basically Benoit could afford the "good" kind of steroids, he was taking around $200,000 worth a year.

…So in essence, the toxicology results show that he was injecting NATURAL anabolic steroids rather than SYNTHETIC anabolic steroids.
…Hence, even if Perez HAD said "anabolic steroids were found in the body of murderer Chris Benoit" in his post, he'd have been ACCURATE.

I have been waiting for a while to post something like this and have been waiting for the time to do this to see when perez would report wrongly about a subject i have been following ever since it has happened……
I am a big fan of the wwe and steroids were not found in his body as noted by the toxicology reports, high levels of a testosterone (sp?) were found in benoit's urine, not steroids of other types….sedatives used on the young boy, the wife and benoit were found at therapuetic(sp) levels not high doses… the reports on the young son had said to be higher than average but that is also due to the composing of his body prior to the tests being done….to hear that perez hilton (someone i've been following up on everyday on this website and on television talk shows plus much on demand since i am from canada) is reporting wrong about this subject i highly doubt i will be coming to read false information anymore
in niagara falls (canada) there is a gift/retail wwe store, outside the wall of the building there were handprints of all the wrestlers who have been there to do appearances in the store…. benoit was one of them…the weekend it first opened benoit, trish stratus, val venis and another wrestler were all there for the grand opening … each one of them printed their hands in cement and have had it placed on the wall….. as soon as the double murder suicide came around the owner of the store has decided to take that down and autographed photos of the event plus other benoit items such as shirts, action figures and necklaces… only because of the negativity surrounding this tragedy although this store was not directly connected to the wwe….sadly the friday (the beginning of this tragedy) i placed my hands in the cement block just to see the size difference…. after fiinding out what had happened from that weekend i didn't know what to think about it… i couldnt believe like all the rest of the fans as to what had happened about this….it still hasnt set in yet…
jordansmck roid rage lasts for a few minutes not the course of three days if you've been researching or following up with all the news reports (some which are fake) that i have been following up on you would know what roid rage is…it is also stated in the link perez posted concerning this report that roid rage is ruled out……..
i am not on benoit's side for what he did i believe it is wrong… but i do feel the media has taken it too far way too far!! has anyone watched the larry king segment with the wrestlers on it talking about the steriods and benoit??? watch that and you will see how everyone thought benoit was a really nice guy, the perfect father to his children which he loved dearly and always brought to wrestling events, and a great role model as wrestler to fellow coworkers…. yes something inside of him snapped but that is no reason to go and kill someone….. like i said i do not stand behind this and am not supportive but it does not mean i will stop watching wrestling because of this tragedy…. its been done and over with, put in history (bad wrestling history) and someone as great as a wrestler as benoit will never be known for his wrestling ability or his technique but now only for this crazy tragedy that has happened….
there is one key factor that some people have not mentioned in this whole tragedy only some reports have reported this so others havent picked it up yet,… one week prior to the benoit tragedy another wrestler known as sensational sherri had died… the truth behind her death is still unknown but sensational sherri was romantically linked at one time to nancy benoit's ex husband and i find it a little strange that this happened one week prior to the death of nancy benoit ……
its something people will have a hard time getting over but they should stop talking about it because everyone has their own story… but i do think its time to get over it… the toxicology reports are out and no one can twist the story now unless they want to but the truth is out and i dont think someone like perez hilton someone who gets so many million hits a day or whatever should be reporting falsely on a touchy subject to many loyal wwe fans….i really dont care if anyone reads this, responds this or has any negative remarks about this comment but i felt it was necessary for me to have written this….

From what i've read testosterone IS an anabolic steroid, people. Normal levels are 1:1 … Benoit had levels of 59:1. A failure in sports is anything over 3:1, so they tell me.
Interesting Nancy was double the drink driving limit with alcohol, had painkillers, anti-anxiety drugs AND was getting over major surgery. Did he kill her because she was a drunk? Don't mean to diss the dead, but here's a theory: that she didn't live up to his ideal of a 'princess trophy wife', he didn't want to divorce her coz that ruined his idea of having a 'domestic kingdom', so in a fit of disgust/'demented self-righteous bible-thumping rage' he killed her. He and the kid, according to him, had to go too, coz he knew the kid would hate him for killing mommy, and he could not stand the fall from grace of being wrestling superstar to creepy killer.
What about the story of Benoit and kid going swimming in their pool after mommy's death? Weird, weird, weird.

Of COURSE it is! It's the primary male hormone. Hormone and steroid are interchangeable. Anabolic steroid is the name given to the synthetic forms of testosterone. He could get it from a doctor, so I'll be it was easy…getting everything he and his wife needed from oen source rather than trying to get the anabolic form from someone else. It's more difficult to obtain.
Why did he have to take it? Probably years and years of taking the anabolic type caused his testicles to shrink up and he became impodent, is my guess. That's the primary side effect…besides obvious rage..which you can get taking both testosterone OR the anabolic form.

this story really shows how the media does not do their homework, and how much they love to just point the finger. there is alot more to this story than steroids, but our media and culture cannot think that deep, so it's easier to just pin it on "roid rage".

it's really sad that the media is making this a "sexy" story. the benoit story is tragic enough by itself…there's really no point to perpetuate rumors. benoit was diagnosed with low testosterone levels years ago and prescribed the hormone for that reason…that's why they found "high levels of testosterone" in his system. the amounts of other leaggly prescribed drugs in nancy and daniel's bodies were a normal prescribed dose. it looks as if benoit sedated his son before he smothered him so that he would not suffer. (which doesn't make him a better person for what he did.) obviously, this was a very disturbed man who was having problems in his marriage…nancy was about to leave and take daniel. he was messed up in the head and went over the edge. however, "steroids" were not found in his system. there's no way this was a case of "roid rage", which doesn't last days…merely minutes. nothing can excuse what benoit did, but the media needs to stop to make this story into something it's not.

I know this site doesn't have any kind of factuality standards, but please make not that STEROIDS, as you said, were not found in Benoit's body… an elevated level of testosterone was found, but nothing artificial. The toxicologist pointed out that the elevated level was not abnormal, and, considering Benoit's past history of steroid use, was most likely given to him (in a proceduraly sound way) because he didn't naturally produce testosterone correctly anymore. Saying "Steroids WERE found" like you did just plays into the myth the media is trying to perpetuate in this case that it was ROID RAGE or something along those lines — that is way too simple of an explanation for something this messed up, and when you really understand this story, the idea that it was some kind of steroid overdose is perposterous.
False reporting Perez. He had a low, consistent with his prescription amount of testosterone in his system.
