So i have noticed that most people here are terrible misinformed about the fashion world. I keep seeing posts saying "what's the big deal?", or "It happends all the time." or even worse "You can't copyright fabric." First, it is a big deal, today in fashion design the ONLY real place you can be original is with your prints as every silouette/style of dress, bag, etc. has already been used. Just because it has happened before doesn't make it right. Lastly, Gwen very well could own a copyright to the print. I have worked in a studio for a designer before and all of our prints were created through computer programs "in house" meaning that we created them FROM SCRATCH on the computer. We owned the design on the print, that doesn't just mean the name, in means the other symbols used in a certain order. She certainly has a case if this is how her prints are created. Most designers in high fashion design the majority of their prints themselves, you can't be mad at people in the industry for trying to protect the last tiny piece of artistic integrity they have left since stores like forever 21 have raped them of it. Finally, all the bitches who keep saying "Forever 21 is good, it let's me get designer type items for cheap." need to shut the fuck up, if you can't afford L.A.M.B., Dior. or Chanel then you need to go back to Wal-Mart and quit making people who CAN afford it pay even MORE. Just because I like to save my money to get one nice designer item (instead of 50 shit ones) does not mean that I deserve to pay more for it because of lawsuits created by cheap ass clothing stores who rip off the designs.

i dont care if it is a ripoff. that greedy bitch and others like her should leave the smaller people alone that rip off her shit. you hvae enough money ho. let the people that cant afford your hideious line ( that btw is bombing anyhow) try to look like you if they want to. isnt imatation the best form of flattery anyhow?

Before jumping to conclusions it should be considered that the interesting thing concerning the textile industry is how many of them use wide-spread inexpensive Dover clip-art and similar items.

She should grow up and be flattered that someone would want to copy her line. Maybe she should think about lowering her prices so more people could afford her clothes? Maybe pack it up and send it to Wal*mart like the Olsens. How else does she expect people in the lower classes to support her? Shopping at Forever 21 for a $7 shirt maybe some people's only option.

I hope Gwen gets a big settlement. Forever 21 is a very big company now and basically built their empire by ripping off other people's designs.

Well, Forever 21 obviously copied the design. They've done it so many times with other companies [House of Holland]. And they're pretty much always being sued. BTW. If you go to TJ MAXX the spring collection of HJ Lovers is on sale. Including that purse. It was 15 dollars.

yeah there is a similarity…but shit happens whenever i shop at the mall some of the stores that dont have name brand clothing have look a likes…either way she's still gonna get money where ever she sells her clothing and it doesnt matter

OK seriously, Gwen stole from the hundreds of Engrish shirts that have been out for the last 7-8 years, and shes pissed someone copied her copied stuff…

Give me a break there is not one thing Gwens lines have that wasnt out before at your local Walmart for 90 dollars less.

      214

yeah it's close. very close. and it's obvious they jacked it. but it's not close enough (especially if it doesn't say harajuku lovers) for them to win in a lawsuit.

jesus gwen dont you have enough money …. get it over it hag….

      216

I have lost all respect for Gwen and will never buy any of her over priced goods. If you product was so good then she wouldn't have to sue anyone. Stores company designs from designers all the time, and you don't see them freaking out. It's not like Gwen needs anymore money…This is going to suck for all the people who shop there to look nice without breaking the bank on designer stuff. Also not everyone can afford more that that. She should think about the working class. I hope this lawsuit doesn't go far!!!

      ITS UGLY CRAP.
I might feel bad for Gwen if it was something cute.
She butchers the Japanese street fashion following so much, its offensive.
She doesn't even know how to pronounce Harajuku correctly.
      She can suck a nut.

Oh! And i don't understand the whole hatred for forever21, im sure at least half of you bashing it have bought something from there and liked it. It's a store for babes on a budget, amen to that. I am also saying this as a 15 year old, i personally love it, because I know no one else in my school will have the same thing as me because they get so many new things on a regular basis. Gwen's bag seems to have a more blueish tint, looking at it, whereas, forever21's looks black and white with no tint. I feel as though a bunch of you commenters are making a large deal out of nothing. If you love fashion soooooooo much, cause you're a f4$h!0n!$t4 and all, go represent gwen with this lawsuit, otherwise, it's like every other thing that happens in life, if there's no copyright … there's no case.

teehee, i'm gonna get nasty grams on my comment.
