actually #28 ireland is in general much more open-minded than it used to be about homosexuality although it still does not have same-sex marriages - the irish people are more open-minded than the government. the point isn't that we have rights when we live in the uk - it's that perez never recognises the fact that someone he writes about is irish. he referred to the oxygen festival as a UK festival, fionn regan as from the UK (when you couldn't get a much more irish name!).
it's just a bit disrespectful of him to constantly lump in everything irish with the uk. i don't know why it makes you laugh for us to claim something as irish when it is - we always get excluded by everyone as a separate country and we shouldn't have to defend our doing so in case someone thinks we are nit-picking.
