Queen Latifah took her longtime 'gal pal' Jeanette Jenkins as her date to the New York City premiere of Hairspray this week!

However, things did not go so smoothly for the undercover lover.

This interaction between Jeanette and a reporter was priceless.

Latifah's longtime personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins was by the actress' side - on hand for any last-minute workouts, we presume. Asked if she has a boyfriend, Jenkins stammered, "I'm in a relationship. I have been for a long time," before beating a hasty retreat down the red carpet past "Hairspray" stars John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken and Nikki Blonsky.

Ha! Making the lesbians angry.

Assuming that Queen Latifah actually is a lesbian (which hasn't really been proven), her refusal to come out of the closet publicly indicates some sort of shame in her sexuality (she has portrayed herself as a straight woman in the public eye in the past) - if she were to come out, she could have a lot influence, particularly toward young black women who might be facing similar problems, or who might be feeling some sort of shame about herself. That being said, she still shouldn't be outed against her will… it's still her decision.
