One of our favorite Hollywood lesbians, Jodie Foster, has recently taken her charitable contributions up a notch, and that is very commendable.

The actress recently made a significant contribution to gay non-profit the Trevor Project for at-risk youths. And, on Wednesday, she attended the opening of the Saban Center for Health and Wellness at the Motion Picture & Television Fund in Woodland Hills, California.

Foster funded the new center's Jodie Foster Aquatic Pavilion.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund provides care for seniors from the entertainment industry. A very worthwhile cause.

We must take care of our elders!

      Jodie Foster is a perfect example of someone who has stayed on the A-list solely on the basis of her talent. She's been a major box office draw for over a decade and NOBODY cares about her sexual preference. She keeps a low profile and only does limited publicity to promote her films. People watch her movies because she's a good actor and selects good material, full stop. She's going to outlast you. In a few years, people will still know who Jodie Foster is, but everyone's going to go Perez Who?

I also LOVE that she is altruistic and has decided to break into philanthropy. I can envision maybe "Good Will Ambassador" on her resume as well someday.       I grew up with her and have always loved her. She is beautiful!!! Granted I was disappointed to find out she was lesbian (some 10 years ago–for the people that just returned from out of space), but I still love her. She is a class act, very intelligent (did you see her on Celebrity Jeopardy–she won) and a great actress. I would have really liked to see some children come from her gene pool–she's awesome!
