Tammy Faye Mesner has passed away at the age of 65.
After fighting a very brave fight with inoperable lung cancer, her poor little body - which whittled down to just 65 lbs recently - could finally not fight any more. She let go on Friday. Her body has been cremated already and buried.
Just this past week, Tammy Faye appeared on Larry King Live. She said that she was in constant pain but had no fear of death. Even at her lowest point, her faith was unshakable.
Our heart is sad, but we are glad that she is no longer in pain.
You're in God's hands now, Tammy Faye.

I always found Tammy to be a calm in the storm of the "religious right". She understood that it is a fight between love and compassion and intolerance. Tammy never judged anyone–unfortunately that can't be said of a lot of our "leaders" today. I think Tammy understood the most important passage in the bible–concerning judging others lest you be judged. I am happy that her spirit soars—no longer constrained by the pain that her physical body endured. Alll of you writing nasty comments just consider for one moment the pain she went through–and the peace she has finally found. May you also!!

Tammy Faye had sooooo many challenges in her life and met them all with a smiling face, a positive attitude and unwavering faith.
One of my coworkers asked why she appeared on TV looking so bad? I explained that she genuinely loved her fans and genuinely cared about them and she drew strengh through their love and prayers.
She was also a gleaming example of the way true christians should be — accepting and loving of others, despite their faults.
She said when she dies, she’s was going straight to Heaven — of that, I have no doubt!
