Potter = Gold

The new Harry Potter book sold like hot cakes this past weekend!
The final installment in the franchise moved 8.3 million copies in its first 24 hours on sale in the U.S., setting a new record.
Deathly Hallows averaged more than 300,000 copies in sales per hour - more than 5,000 a minute.
At $34.99 a piece, the last Potter book generated far more revenue than the opening weekend of the latest Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which came out July 10th.
So have you read the last book???
You like it????

It was amazing and I called my mom crying b/c I have no more Harry Potter books to look forward to.
aw, i love you perez
Yes. It was amazing.
i'm reading it now, love it so far!
ha
first
I got it from Walmart for $18 and finished it already!! OH yeah
FIRST!
who dies?
First
i bought it at midnight friday and i had read it by midnight saturday!
it was brilliant! i loved it! x.
FIrsttttttt
I don't get the obsession with these books!
Brilliant
completed me haha
Loved it! the end felt a bit rushed, it could have been longer but it was amazing! a great end to the series
but 35 bucks? my copy wasn't that expensive at all i guess it all depends on where you get it. congrats to j.k
I love it!
First bitch!
i like the ending… 3 kids?
loved it, though i pretend that that shitty epilogue doesn't exist.
I cried too. I can't believe it's the end. I'm going to miss Harry and everyone so much. Thank you, Ms. Rowlings, for such a lovely ride.
i like the ending, hmm 3 kids?
I read it, I finished it this morning. I think it was pretty good, some sad bits though. But it ended like I wanted it to.
But I thought the "Nineteen years later" bit was kinda lame.
3 kids?
I did not read it but I did encounter a freak talking to a gummy work looking for her wand talking to it and answering it. Then I offended somene by asking what she was supposed to be. Fucking kids!
best one yet. well worth the 3 hour freezing cold wait. sooo bitter sweet
Good book, not great. Amazing series.
read it. loved it. am reading it again
Got it at midnight, finished it before lunch the next day-LOVED it!!! The ending was perfect.
The book was brilliant!! I am so sad that there will not be anymore (unless Rowling changes her mind). But the book was great and I cried several times throughout it.
what's the point of saying 'first' each time? it's stupid..
harry potter SUXS!
it was absoultely amazing. how she thinks up the ending to that book…i don't understand, it was absoultely brilliant.
i still wish some of the side characters didn't have to die, though.
it was absolutely amazing. I was sad because it has ended, but not sad how it ended. I don't think she could've ended it better. I'm going to stop here before I give any spoilers, but it was amazing!!
read it. loved it. the writing is so well done and it truly is a great coming of age story. about love, redemption, forgiveness, family, and friendship. great book and amazing series.
I waited in line for an hour and picked up the book for my sister and she was going on vacation with my family so she took it with her. However, I managed to read the last few chapters just to see who died (the suspense was killing me!!) I was a little confused at first because I hadn't read the rest of the book but I was really happy with the way she ended it. And although the 19 Years Later part was a little cheesy I also thought it was super-cute. I'm just sad that it's all over but now I can't wait for the rest of the movies to come out!
Harry and his "domestic partner" adopt 3 kids from Milawi?
i cried too!!! atleast twice. its kind of pathetic how attached i got to people in the story.
it was simply fantastic!
The epilogue should have been better, but a great great great book…
Im Lovin It!
It was an amazing book, great ending, terrific story. I could not imagine it ending in a better way. I got mine at the library @ 11am on Saturday and finished reading by 9pm Saturday night. I could not put it down. Great way to end the series.
finished the book, and LOVED it.. and it didn't cost me a dime, either! i love birthdays! lol
and yep, the 'nineteen years later' part was kind of lame…
I received it Saturday and finished in Sunday morning. I LOVED it and thought it a perfect ending to a near-perfect and grand epic. All the spoilers posted online were WRONG, thank goodness (because I had read them!)! The only end Rowling didn't really tie up included the Dursleys– I expected just a little more info for them and more of a storyline (yes I'm aware of Petunia's issues but I still expected Vernon to have a bigger role this time ’round).
I am betting that the Potter offspring will be the subject of her new novels. At least I hope so! But, that would make sense– especially when one discovers that this last novel took place in 1997, rather than 2007. By the very very end of the book, it is 2016– just in time for the first movie based on the new series (if JKR goes this route, that is)!
It was wonderful…I applaud JK Rowling. Can't wait for the final 2 movies!
yeah i finished it yesterday. j.k. rowling is such an amazing author, the book was just incredible! i'm sad that the series is over, but the way it ended was great.
greatest book ever!!!!!!!!!!
Love the last book and I can't wait till they make it into a movie! *crossing my fingers that the movie will do justice to the book* There are just too much details in Book 7. Surprises and more surprises. It's a wonderful adventure with Harry and I'm sad that it's the end.
Hope that Jo will write the Harry Potter encyclopedia that she is considering… that will be absolutely brilliant.
Prezzzie, are you reading the book too?
ahh yes it was thoroughly epic! i waited in line at barnes and noble and got it around one. i finished it like eight hours later. haha. it was SO good. definitely the best installment yet.
It was a wonderful book. Well worth the two year wait. Perez - you'd love the movie they make out of this one! 6 clones of Harry undress in Chapter Four.
Took 14 hours straight. Loved it! I'm dreading the movie, lord knows the final battle will be cut to a 10 minute blip if even.
i've never cried over a book, until now. it was great. ALL that i could have wanted. i can't believe it's over…
NNNEEEEEERRRRDDDDSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
35 bucks? I got mine at Barns and Noble for like 23.

Yess, and it was good, a nice ending…
NERDS
I finished the book on sunday at 3.20 am and it was AMAZING!!! it was a perfect ending although she left some small questions unanswered..it was soo emotional..
and its even more sad now that there is no more Potter to look forward to..
Finished the book at 10 p.m. Saturday…I certainly couldn't write anything like that myself, but I was a little disappointed. Some parts just lagged and the end felt very rushed. I found the explanation for why the end happened the way it did to be overly complex and I would have liked more insight into what happens in the future for all of the main characters.
it was amazing. i finished it in the first day. best one in the series.
Amazing book. Although I cried. Alot
what!!! at target it was only $17.99
How pathetic. Adults crying and lining up for hours for a children's book? Do you think J K Rowling cares about any of you? She's laughing all the way to the bank, you bunch of retards!
I'm sorry, but this book sucked. It is like good fan fiction. There were so many plot holes. It could have been great if given another year or two to polish…too bad..
Just finished it last night. Not my favorite, but still a good one. I'm going to miss Harry so much! I think the epilogue at the end leaves some room for JKR to write a few more money makers in about ten years…
I finished the book on sunday 3.20am and it was AMAZING!!! It was a perfect ending although she left some small questions unanswered.. It was very emotional..
and its even more sad now that there is no HP to look forward to…(sniffle)
Screw Harry Twotter and the ugly ass broad who writes about him!
I finished it Saturday night. It took me 14 hours with time to eat, but I read it. I loved it, and she picked a great location for the final show down. It was awsome!
Fuck Harry Potter!
I would fuck JK and have all of her babies. I aspire to be just like her when I grow up.
yeah yeah i was one of the dummies at the bookstore till 1am with my son of course LOL! we rushed home and read the last chapter LOL! just to see who would die hahhahaha
Read it - LOVE it - not going to spoil it for others. I think fans will be very satisfied with the outcome though.
BEST BOOK BUT NOT FOR KIDS!!!!!!!!!!
aunt jess misses lucas
I loved the book, was done by Sunday evening. It is the best one yet, I am sad it is the last one!
not to give to much away, but after the dual at the end of the book, i would have liked rowling to show how the wizard community rebounds after that, instead of just jumping 19 years in the futire.
I loved it!
yes i loved it. i cried at the end only because there's no more harry potter to look forward to
it was good. i don't think it was worth crying buckets for, but it was good. i
Simply awesome (= Loved it- couldn't put it aside before finishing! Absolutely worth waiting so long- though I must say it's kinda sad there will be no mo'
XoXo
I just finished it like an hour ago and was balling my eyes out. My mom woke up this morning and found me crying about it. She was like….are you crying because it's sad or are you crying because it's done? I can't believe it's over…i've beening reading this for over 6 years….wow. By the way….did I say it's AMAZING!!!!
I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books and have only briefly watched part of the movies, but I am interested in getting a "clff notes" version of the final book's ending. Anyone care to divulge how it all ends?
I did like the last one but I have to agree with a few comments here. In particular those about it being a bit rushed… disappointing, hated the epilogue as well. Totally unnecessary and I know she said that she would do a 'some years later bit' but really all that procreating. It’s ok for them to have a childish snog but I really don’t want to think about it - it just seems wrong. Anyway am kind of glad it is over, now I will get some work done. And we are not nerds, we just appreciate a good story, which does not explain why I look at this website, but anyway there you go.
it was absolutely amazing…no words can even describe
loved it! Closure is good and JK did not make it easy for Harry….emotional rollercoaster but amazing
J.K. Rowling is one of the greatest fiction writers of the century. What a wonderful imagination she has!
The book was AMAZING. Best one by far. I'm kinda bummed though that I have no more to llook forward too. What a wonderful series. Jo did a wonderful job.
loved the book!
BrnEyedGirl, it's called Wikipedia. I know it might be a new concept to you, but give it a try.
It was absolutely the BEST Potter book yet!!! Now I'm just bummed that there won't be anymore coming out!!
the most amazing book i have ever read. i have stuck with these books for the past decade and was blown away by how the story ended. i cried so much because so many things happened (i don't want to give anything away). everything was so sad! the fact that it is the last potter book is also devastating. i fully recommend it to ANYONE. you need to read this book.
IT WAS AMAZING! Such a great book. *tear*
The book was brilliant, I loved every second but only cried when one character died on page 285, the rest of the time I was in shock.
So good, words can't describe, although the a**wipe (#31) who wrote the plot details on a comment about the book being leaked on this site should go and stick his head up his butt sideways.
All the naysayers on here have definitly not read the book and judging by some of the derogatory comments on this page, have never read A book.
I LOOOOVVEEDD IT!!!!! the epilogue was cute but not the best….I am so sad the books are over but i am very excited to see the last 2 movies!! Especailly will all the action in book 7!!! …. #79 you can read "cliff notes" of all the books on wikipedia….
wow $34.99 is £17 i got mine for £5
Most people who bought it at midnight Saturday got a big discount (40% at least). I read it all Saturday and it was really good, a very good piece of literature (I am sure very few people here can appreciate that.)
I read the book, it was very good, the ending was not what I expected, (or wanted…). I would give the book 4 out of 5. the last few books were better, but it was still a really good read and I would reccomend it to anyone
i love it! though i cried when dobby died *sniffs*
The last Harry Potter book was amazing. Truely.
Much, much better than the last two, and I can see why J.K. Rowling says its her favorite. I love it, and it hasn't really set in that the journey in my life that started when I was 6/7 is now over
LOVED IT !!
Sad It's Finished Tho !!
its so amazing!!!!!!! best book in the series! forget that - best book in the world!!!!
I loved the entire book except for the epilouge. What was up with the kids names?
I cried pretty much the enitre time and finished it in eight hours.
Uhh i liked the first part alot but the ending felt really rushed and a little out there. It kind of seems like Rowling wrote it the way she did so it wouldnt piss anyone off. Not my favorite but i still love the series.
