"There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of My December, much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it's respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. 1) Her album was not a flop. It was #2 it's first week and it outsold both previous releases in their first weeks release.
2) It's still in the top 5 for the Billboard top 200.
3) She was very very right to stand up for this ablum. The new disc isn't much of a change from the previous…she's been going in this direction from the start.
4) This has been blown completely out of proportion and those that say she "straight up" said whatever about Clive. We don't know anything that she said directly to the interviewer - we weren't there. Just because there are quotes around something, doesn't make it true.
Until you actually take a listen to this amazingly talented singer/songwriters new album…stop the negativity. You can't judge any album until you've heard the entire thing more then 2 times….common knowledge.
Congrats to Kelly for sticking to her guns and proving to at least 400,000+ that she is an incredibley talented, genuine person that deserves her success more than many in Hollywood.

Kelly is amazing and this statement proves it. The fight between her and Clive was probably blown WAY out of proportion. None of us were there so we don't know what the hell happened. "My December" is an amazing album and people need to give it a chance. She didn't conform to what everyone else besides herself wanted her to be, and that act shouldn't be looked down upon, it should be applauded. She followed her own heart and did what SHE wanted to do, and for people to criticize her for that is quite pathetic and those people are probably a bunch of followers and not leaders.
It makes me sick that a record company will not let an artist grow with her music. This album is beautiful, emotional, dark and inspiring and anyone who dosen’t think so dosen’t appreciate really good music. I agree the album isn’t as commerical as “Thankful” and “Breakaway” but it is by far the best album by an Idol vet to date.
