As we were the first to report, Barbara Walters will definitely be hiring two new co-hosts for The View this coming season, and one of those will most likely be Whoopi Goldberg.
Who is the top contender for the second slot? The New York Post is reporting that it's between Kathy Griffin and Sherry Shepherd.
Hmmmm.
We still wish a Latina would have joined the ladies this year.

The show is just too painful to watch now that Rosie's gone…zzzzzzzzz. I'm sure Woopie will bring some intelligence to the show and there's something about Kathy that's very cute and likable. I only saw Sherri Shepherd a couple of times and she was very animated and entertaining, but Sherri, if you're reading this, please don't spank your 2 year old. Be creative and concentrate more on the discipline (preventing the bad behaviour before it happens) than the punishment.

I have to say Rosie got me back to the VIEW and I was there every day, BUT, EH and her damn views, her backstabbing, has turned me off so much it is hard to see Whoopi and Sherri take the shit from her! I'm *thrilled* that Whoopie will be on The View. She's thoughtful and wise and extremely well-spoken. She's very def liberal so that will be a good balance. I think Kathy Griffin will also be a good contributor but Whoopie is a real gem!

I think Whoopi Goldberg would be a great cohost. She is funny, opinionated, and intelligent without being quite as overbearing as Rosie was. I don't know if Kathy Griffin would be a good decision. Funny, but very little tact and I don't think and Barbara Wawa would mesh well. Shery Sheperd is the girl for the job.
Any one is better than that racist blow hard Rosie. Talk about s/o who talks a whole lot of mess but when confronted by EH, she ran like the coward she really is. I like both Sherry and the Whopster, but honestly think that show is beneath both of them!!!

She is all about "Kathy" and would do anything for publicity. I really like Sherry and I think she would make a great addition to the show. As for adding a Latina, has Barbara even had one on as a viable guest co host? Eva L. isn't available and I can't think of another she has had on. The best was Ross Mathews! Now, he would fit in great!

Kathy is the funniest and most real chick out there. LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER. I swear every word out of her mouth is on point. It's so great to have a woman who is not afraid to talk. I want to be her BFF.
Whoopi is a great choice, she can put zingers on you and be so cool about it. The show will be over before Elizabeth realize the zinger was on her. This is good, Whoopi is smart, very intelligent, know her stuff politically so Elizabeth will not be able to play political games with her. Whoopi will not be doing a lot of shouting and loud talking. The View audience will definitely be changing with the new additionals.
I love Kathy, but I'm sure it'll be Shepperd. But could you imagine all the dirt Kathy could scoop up for her live shows!!!!!

I watch the view everyday. Hated Rosie. Could learn to love Whoopi. Kathy to loud and Sherry to sweet.
Whoopi has been so laid back in her commens that she has actually slowed down the pace of the show and made it absolutely dull; Kathy has been hilarious and definitely keeps up the humour quota; I found Sherry Shepherd troubling as she talked about family values in total agreement with the egregious Elizabeth H. Having 2 right wing Christians on the panel would up the nausea factor considerably.

I love The View…Sherry Shepherd brings a lot to the table with her humor. I am going to have a hard time watching Whoopi–she just seems so tired and bored when she is at the table. I like Kathy as a guest-host only. A latina would be perfect–let's replace Barbara.
