Kelly To Release New Album In Months! Making Things Right!

Following the critical and commercial disappointment of her most recent album, My December, and the controversy surrounding it, Kelly Clarkson has agreed to start working on a new album right away, which will be released in 2008.
Clarkson's last album, Breakaway, sold a whopping six million copies in the U.S. alone. My December is expected to sell only about 850,000.
It seems like Kelly has realized the error of her ways and is taking the appropriate steps to ensure she gets her career back on track.
My December, which was released just weeks ago, was shelved by music mogul Clive Davis for months because he didn't think the album had any hits.
Clarkson ended up cancelling her poor-selling summer tour and firing her manager, as a result of all the dramz.
Realizing the error of her ways, Kelly took the bold move of apologizing publicly to Clive Davis earlier this week.
The new album that Clarkson is recording will definitely be more radio friendly and promises to have the big pop hits this recent album lacks. Davis is overseeing the new project from its inception.

MY DECEMBER is her best album to date because it was hers! The songs are pure and relatable. If you read what she was going through when she wrote them, break ups, friends getting married, having babies, it's exactly what my friends and I are dealing with. So you know what? No, it's not a teeny bopper album, big fucking deal!! It's a mature, amazing, pure, rocking album and her voice is ridiculous and no one can deny her vocal talents. I can relate to so many songs, if you sit down and listen to the words, the meaning behind them, the feeling she puts into it, instead of just reading the garbage the press is writing to sell papers, and actually gave it a chance maybe you'd learn you like something that's not "main stream" too. It's beautiful, meaningful, soulful, rock, and amazing and I love it and I don't give a shit what critics think, they are usually wrong anyway. Just think, if P!nk went the way her record label wanted her to go instead of doin her own thing, she probably would have failed after her first album and disappeared instead of putting out some of the best music there is. My December was a great album put out by Clarkson that was personal and real. I know if I were in her situation, I would never be able to put out music that I didn't fully believe in. Music is an expression of the self, and to put out garbage for the sake of making a dollar would be hard for me to do. I think Kelly realized during the recording of My December that she wants to be proud of her work, and she wants it to invest her soul into it. I truly believe she did, and that she delivered an honest album with many great songs. Although it isn't radio friendly, the album is touching and moving, and I am so glad that she stuck to her guns and fought for it. She is courageous and I am proud of the artist that she is.

If Kelly could catch a break in the press and people actually listened to the album, they'd no it's good. Maybe not as hooky and formulaic as Breakaway but really good.

I loved several songs on My December and hope Clive will allow her to pen some more on the next. Come Here is a great already written pop song that should be included. It is sexy and upbeat.

I don't see that as a sellout, and everyone I've talked to really loves My December. It could be a sleeper and sell well long term, who knows. Maybe they'll compromise and Kelly can sneak in one or two of her own songs on each CD, plus get promotion and touring. That would be the best of both worlds at this point. Both she and Clive benefit, so it would be a win/win.

Yeah, SHAME on those record execs for wanting an album that actually SELLS. Since Clive Davis has FORGOTTEN more than most people EVER know about music, I'm gonna go with Clive's judgement. Since that man has been finding and giving us some of the biggest stars in the industry's history, whomever it was that said he doesn't bring new talent into the biz obviously doesn't have a clue. As for My December, "Don't Waste Your Time" is a perfectly radio friendly hit. "Never Again" was already top ten on the Hot 100. "Sober" is my favorite song on the album, but is also not radio friendly. It doesn't even have a chorus! "Breakaway" was a lot more fun, but "My December" is more honest.
