NBC has confirmed that Jimmy Fallon will likely replace Conan O'Brien in 2009, when the ginger-haired comedian is supposed to take over for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

However, a lot still remains in the air. And, one of the interesting new developments is the possibility of moving The Tonight Show back to New York, where it began.

Fallon would move to LA and Conan would stay in New York, a move that would "set the stage for a vicious in-town booking war between NBC and CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman for guests," says Broadcasting & Cable.

That sounds like fun! We love the dramz!

However, there is still a real possibility that NBC may pay out O'Brien's $40 million and keep Leno.

The peacock network has a year to decide. They need to make an announcement by May of '08, when all networks reveal their new season to advertisers at the upfronts presentation in New York.

This should be juicy!

      O'Fallon has a history of NOT being talented. Show me one movie that he did that was worth the price of a ticket! His humour is limited and forced.

      Ugh Jimmy Fallon is so not funny anymore. He was funny for a sliver of time years ago, then it was all downhill fast after that Queen Latifah movie. Conan is the funniest host of ALL the latenight shows. That being said I wouldn't want Conan to take over for Jay. He'd be exposed to the audience that found Leno funny and I doubt they would like him. Leno's humour is so safe I found his show funny when I was like 11.

      I LOVE CONANDO!! He'd better not be bought out so that they can keep Leno. They can do that only if he stays on his show. They also better not take Conan out of NYC. That would be terrible!! He's super pale, he's even in the Legion of Pale (heh Pale Force), so he would not do well in Los Angeles. He'll end up sponsered by Coppertone or something. As for Jimmy Fallon, well, I'd give him a shot. Remember, most people also didn't think Conan was funny in the beginning either.

      I cannot stand Conan. I will NOT watch the show once he takes over. I love Fallon, why can't he take over instead? Or Jerry Seinfeld would be interesting. NOT CONAN. Ratings will DROP for sure. I hope Leno will stay or get someone other than beady-eye, pointy nose Conan. I can think of hundreds of people I would rather see.
