In November, The View had a best friends week and BW’s BFF, Beverly Sills appeared. Ms. Sills made a point of mentioning why she left opera at the height of her career, reason being she wanted people to remember her in her prime and not wonder when is she ever going to retire. Many took this as polite hint that BW’s time in the sun was eclipsing. Johnny Carson bowed out young and it was a wise choice as he’s remembered as still being at the top of his game. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of Jack Benny, George Burns and Bob Hope. Nobody is questing BW’s legacy but recently she has made many mistakes and at times appears befuddled. She is quickly becoming a caricature of her younger self and that’s not a pretty picture.
