John Mayer is one of the many artists who have signed up to perform at "A Concert For Virginia Tech."

Other artists who will give back in remembrance of the horrific school shooting include the Dave Matthews Band, Phil Vassar and Nas.

"It’s about a celebration of spirit," the school says. "It’s about showing the resiliency and strength of our community known throughout the world as Hokie Spirit."

All tickets are free for student and recent graduates.

      since people on this site always post nasty little unnecessary racist comments whenever there is a black person's story or pic::::: white people sure are funny: from their pasty white skin that they hate so much and spend millions a year in the tanning industry to look like us hated blacks. white people have no ass and hence hate on gorgeous curvy women like Beyonce. white people are angry cuz although they may own (or stole) the world black people run it and excell far better than their angry little pasty selves in just about everything which is why they hate.       I think this is great. It's nice to see artists giving back. What isn't great though is assholes making stupid comments on a sensitive subject like this. Save the trashy ignorant comments for the trashy ignorant stories. Have a little respect people.       Aw..Virtinia Tech. What a senseless tragedy. I've always liked John Mayer but now I really really like him. He's a class act with a tremendous voice and he's giving back for such a worthy cause. Such a contrast …between him and slutty party people who lip sync and can only get press by going into "rehab"…I hope the people of Virginia enjoy that show and you're in our hearts.

      Its really nice that these artists (DMB and JM are 2 of my favs) are doing this for free for the kids. But honestly, there are so many other tragedies in the world that media needs to focus on. VT is nothing in comparison to whats happening in other parts of the world.

      Wow #67 Krista- It's "really nice" to see your insensitivity. I would love to see how your cold heart would react, as a 20 year old, to your friend being senslessly shot for just attending class one day. Some artists use their good to benefit others, and that being said it's the artist's choice to say whom they will benefit. I agree that many oppurtunities exist everywhere for a charitable concert. I know I donated to the Tsunami and Katrina benefits that many artists participated in. But come on, keep your mouth shut and feel thankful something like this did not consume your life for the last 4 months. If we could go back and change the past events, we would take back 32 amazing Virginia Tech lives over a free Virginia Tech concert anyday. Shame on you, think about what you say before you say it.
