Bike, $5K is about the right price for the frame but he probably shelled out over $6K for everything;the bike, clothing, etc. I wonder how much he spends in tune ups and a yearly overhaul? He has the money and it is a high value target (thieves). I still enjoy my $600 Specialized for the last 12 years, albiet, a lot of $$$ went to maintenance and wheel replacements.
