I've been an avid M.I.A. fan for years thanks to her commitment to adding different genres to the American pop music culture. Those of you who aren't ready for her worldly sound…well… maybe you just aren't really open minded musically. Enjoy the many blah artists that they play on the radio…. they all sound the same and contribute little to our culture.

I can't believe what I just watched! What happened to her? M.I.A used to have such style and personality in her videos. Most of them were made with her own artwork of many mediums. And if a video didn't, it at least had something to do with what she was singing about. This is a devestatingly disappointing video. Her previous albums discussed (political) issues of India, Sri Lanka, and her upbringing as a refugee in London. But she seems to be clinging to a shallower image here. Her image and demeanor in "Jimmy" make me fear we may have lost that refreshing, rebellious, and politically-charged M.I.A who dominated the underground before her publicist (or whoever convinced her to abandon herself) got to her. Ugh. I just hope she doesn't go to rehab. After this, she needs to be on drugs to stay kosher in my book.
