The Day Is Upon Us!!!

American Airlines is going to become the first U.S. carrier to offer broadband Internet access to customers on its planes.
Amen!!!!
The service is expected to begin early in 2008 and (at this point) mainly on coast to coast flights.
That works for us! Good thing we're signed up for AAdvantage miles!

thats amazing
OH MY GOSH
That's AWESOME!!!! Damn, I can't wait until this becomes a regular thing on airlines. That'll make those long flights seem a hell of a lot less shorter.
I thought I was going to be first. DAMN. These comments are so slow to load. *gag*

And how much are they going to charge each user for this? Money hungry industry.
This should really piss Elton John off LOL!
Lufthansa has offered that for a couple of years. It's amazing! You can surf the web just like you're at your desk or any wireless hotspot. The flight attendants don't like it when you look at porn online though. JetBlue, Virgin American and United are also adding this to their planes.
That's great. You can't use cellphones, but, the internet is ok? How long until the terrorists embrace this piece of technology?
wow that is totally awesome
GODDAMN AMERICAN…..
the scandinavian airline SAS has had it for almost two years now
Great, now you can e-mail your friends when parts start falling off the plane. So not a fan of AA.

Wow, the people who keep posting that they are first, I have a question for you guys/gals. Do you people have anything else to do? Like work? Go to school? Come on!!!
No…none of the carriers mentioned have it AT ALL since Connexion by Boeing yanked the plug on their satellite based service at the begining of the year.
This service will ONLY be available in the US, as it works off of the old, craptacular Airphone service that disappeared from seatbacks years ago.
well i guess emailing is alot less anoying than having the bitch next to you blab on the cell phone all the way to your destination.
Great! Now I can upload my mile-high club experiences onto the net instantly!!!
Now my boss will expect me to get work done en route on business trips! Crap!! That's the only time I get any reading done.
That's great. How long till the first perv gets chucked out over Kansas for trolling kiddy porn sites. Or until "Porn Lover #1" gets beaten by angry dad for checking regular porn while sitting next to happy family on the way to Disneyland. How about www.howtoblowshitup.com? Or www.greatplanecrashes.com?
There are many things worse than being off-line for 6 hours. Try taking a nap or jerking off in the bathroom.
Actually, Virgin America was the first to announce it. American is following their lead.
who cares.
Big fucking whoop.
It's a shame. Even having the internets on board my flight still isn't enough to get me to flying those dwlindiling silver tubes that AA flies.
JESUS- THAT IS BITTERSWEET- WE ARE SO FRIGGIN CONNECTED THAT EVEN NOW ON THE PLANE WE"LL BE ABLE TO WORK INSTEAD OF READING A GOOD BOOK OR JUST RELAXING- WHICH WAS WHY BUSINESS FLIGHT WERE OK- NO ONE COULD GET A HOLD OF YOU!!!!!
Oh good. Now we will feel like we're sitting in a computing class with everyone clattering keyboards next to us and laughing out loud while they have conversations on instant messenger.
I hope headphones are mandatory or there is no volume.
People are in need of serious help if they can't do without the latest technology for a few hours.
What next, internet access on buses and in taxis?
Cos you know, "there are some professionals who travel all the time and would find it really useful, in fact we NEED it" oh shut up
OMG UR SO DAMN SLOW THAT IS 2 WK OLD NEWS RETARDO
.
yeah, all we need…
.
add pooping babies to that order…
As long as the pilots aren't watching while they're at the controls
Well they should do something since they cancel so many effin flights. They should give free latops to go along with that too. I would rather walk or flap my arms b4 I EVER fly with those fucksticks again!
EMIRATES already does
yes…now we could get perez on the plane!
this is a bad day for executive assistants everywhere…
This sucks… now I have no excuse not to work when I fly for business. At least I can read Perez on long flights.
American Airlines sucks. they have the worst plane food and one time the stewadress nudged me with the food tray to tell me to take it .
AMERICAN AIRLINES IS #1

Hmm SAS has only had that for over two years…
That´s cool. Like 3-4 years after SAS and Lufthansa started with wireless internet on their flights. Oh, the euro airlines still offer food and booze on their flights.
And the lounges are free, if you have decent status.
Red Carpet is a joke. Ugly furniture, horrible snacks and no free internet?!
Go Scandnavia!
