Unemployed actress Michelle Rodriguez just posted this meandering rant on her official website.

She's crazy….but in a kinda smart way!

"August 6 , 2007

I am incredibly grateful for the support of such cool people, especially for the outstretched hands of love towards animals. I feel the day we turn our backs on nature and it's wild life is truly the day we decide we don't love anymore, hopefully I won't live to see this awful cyber robotic mentality hell of a cold lifeless generation. I love the fact that you guys are down to care for animals like that. It's so hot to know the love is out there. I can't wait to start writing my child animal movie project script for you guys. It's those souls that still have that childlike purity that I want to reach out to and entertain, especially if it penetrates the minds of others seeking positive change. To see this kind of energy makes me feel I'm not alone, and it reminds me to imagine, create, and shape a path for story telling. I will not disappoint you, and I'm working hard to give myself the freedom I need to take off for a year and write, as I have wanted to for 13 years. I am about to embark on a journey with one of my favorite story tellers and mythology manifestors of all time. I wouldn't mind being this man's assistant, anything I could learn from him would make me so happy. I'm so not type to ass kiss, and I've never had a mentor in this business not anyone I respect as much. Case and point, I'm very happy right now, and I feel good about finally shedding my last pieces of dead skin, being born as a newly evolved creature and revealing to everyone who couldn't see before what I'm truly about. For the most part anyway. No veils, no masks. I'm talking about finally getting to that point where I am sitting on a chair talking to a great director, a team of great writers, kid actors, animal trainers, and awesome special effects teams. Making my dream of story telling come to life. Everything I do for the next three years will be leading towards that day…. I love you for your support and thank you for believing in me while most people labeled me and threw me in a corner. I need to know I'm not alone so I can remind you guys that you're not alone. Give and take I guess, yet it's more organic than that silly narcissistic saying. Thanks again guys. ONE.

Oh by the way my friend asked me a really interesting question about an email I wrote to her. She just left to go to Med School for like four years. So most of our conversations are digital conversations. You know how writing can sometimes give you this freedom to elaborate cause you have more time to think before you speak right? Well I wrote to her this elaborate email about school being a marriage to existence, I wasn't talking about Med School. Confused she asked me what I meant by 'the school of life existing to fulfill a void in soul.' I would like to share this perspective with you guys and possibly get some feed back on how you see it and view existence in retrospect. Just looking back at your lives do you kinda feel like the whole things a big school or what? Here is the response I wrote to my friend:

I don't think a human can exist in rapture or satisfaction simply existing on earth alone…. I think we have consciousness and curiosity for a reason. I really do think this place is a school for the soul or the neutral witness inside all of us. From My perspective its like The Human Body Vs. the DNA that commands its biological make up. Your body and its experiences may evolve and effect that DNA for your next of kin, whether you smoke, did a lot of drugs or lived a perfectly healthy life, your DNA most likely will evolve and be affected by this process of existence for generations to come. Infinitely evolving and moving on towards change. I feel the same goes for the MIND and The SOUL ( Or Witness of the mind). For me the mind is like the body and the soul like the DNA. if you sit there and do nothing under a tree like Buddha for 8 years of your life, you will be curious, and you will evolve by answering these curiosities, as long as your conscious, even sleeping, or have a breath of reason in you. whatever you do you will never leave school of life till death do you part. You're married to Life. The School of life. I know personally, If I hadn't this massive curiosity and awe about the world I would feel dead and purposeless. I think my soul is looking for something, hence the reference to school of life existing to fulfill the void of spirit. That void of spirit, to me is representative of the DNA's need to evolve, that need is = to the void of soul I speak of. Like an Infinite quest. I empathize and feel equal to everyone I encounter because I see that quest or yearning for fulfillment in the eyes of everyone I meet. If he or she didn't have some unfinished curiosity to fulfill I think people would just drop dead or become lifeless vegetables. Just a perspective snack to ponder.

My grammar sucks ass."

I totally commend Michelle on trying really hard to sound intellectual and innovative, but she is trying WAY too hard. As a writer, I think I speak for the rest of us when I say… using big words doesn't necessarily convey something better than average English speak. A for effort, though!

A little rambling, but, she has some important ideas starting to brew. I think she is headed in the right direction. Don't judge her on what time she is up blogging, we all have different schedules. It's 7am and I am not just getting up, I am still up. I work nights! For some good insight into what is really going on in the world…look up the video "Zeitgeist" (google video I think)

She's not unemployed Perez. She's just been cast in James Cameron's Avatar. You know James Cameron, don't you? Director of Titanic? Terminator? The Abyss? THAT James Cameron. Do some research first before you post.

Not a fan of Michelle Rodriguez but I felt I should correct the error.

      19

thats is surprisingly articulate mantra M Rod has cooked up she is on to something with the perspective on life existing as a school for the soul evolving as you learn. She is basically saying that every little thing you surround yourself with has an effect on your wether good or bad it will stay you which is why some people are different than others. She would be so fun to party with

      22

      Err… What the fuck?!

    23. Barbtallica says – reply to this

      23

No, Kyle you need to expand YOUR understanding of genetics and look up some info on the collective consciousness and….check this out…Dr.Cleve Backster conducted his famous experiments using plants and
simple animals like shrimp. Backster showed scientifically that the
house plants in his laboratory were influenced by the thoughts of
people. When Backster thought about cutting or killing a plant, that
plant plus all the other plants in the room reacted with fear. He
recorded and measured this reaction of the power of thoughts with the
      equivalent of a lie detector.

Daily the scientist left the room to go to lunch. After eating, when
he just thought about returning to the laboratory, the equipment
recorded a spike in the fear of the plants at the same time. Thoughts
projected by Backster were instantly communicated to his plants even
      though they were miles apart.

Later in 1995, based on the effects of human intention on plants,
Backster was asked to design an experiment for the U.S. Army to
conduct on human DNA. These experiments showed that DNA taken from
the donor’s mouth and nurtured in a Petri plate in the next room
exhibited the same reactions to emotions stimulated in the subject’s
body a few hundred feet away. Again the result was instantaneous.

After the Army stopped their experiments, Dr. Backster continued to
increase the distance between the donor and his DNA in the Petri
dish. Even when 350 miles apart, the separated DNA and the DNA in the
donor reacted the same way instantly as measured by an atomic clock
in Colorado. The energy of the thoughts, and the emotions, or
      feelings transmitted instantaneously.

#25 celestial: like the other person said, she has a job Avatar (by James Cameron!!) and that political Battle movie thing (with Charlize Theron!!). Her resume got a huge bump with these 2 flix. she's definitely not unemployed or crazy. i love how she writes so damn much. it's brilliant. and u know what, it proves she cares a lot about her fans 2 sit down and write so much to them. it shows that instead of spending all her time throwing money at expensive stores, at the clubs 24/7, vacationing in the tropics and hanging with bigshot celez doing nothing for other humans like most other "stars", she takes a minute and sits down and says all of this thankful, humble, and just plain interesting shit.

i found it fascinating and i agree with a lot of points (the ones i understand anyway, hahahah)

by the way, that's a super hot pic. beauty and brains. shit world watchout.

      47

I agree with Kyle, she has a horrible understanding of genetics. The only way DNA evolves is through random mutations, and if those mutations prove to be profitable to the organism, then the mutations get passed on to the next generation. It's the most simple concept of genetics and evolution. And as for the famous study's of Dr. Cleve Backster, I'd like to see the published, peer reviewed article, because it sounds like a bunch of bollox to me. If this study was viable, I'm sure I would have come across it in my genetics class, but he's not even in my text book. I'm suspect.

I really like Michelle Rodriguez as an actress.
She brings a sort of rare on screen intensity that very few of her other female contemporaries seem to be capable of bringing.
Her short stint on lost was memorable and one of the best things about season 2.
I hope she gets it together and graces our screens again in the not-to-distant-future.

      55

Socrates said, in the Apology, "An unexamined life is not worth living". I commend Rodriguez for examining her life. Her perception might not match up with mine, or with others; she examined her life, and that is a good thing. I wish more people would examine and think critically about life.

Those people certainly wouldn't turn to trash blogs to insult others for their thoughts.

My God this girl can ramble on and on!!! The sad thing about it is she had nothing of sustance in her entire rant! It so funny (or pathetic) how some of these people get alittle notoriety, and automatically think that they have some profound and innovative new way of seeing the world, they must share this incredible insight. They are so full of themselves!!!! I myself, would like to see a bit more humility in these celebrities. I guess that's would be a kind of oxymoron, "a humble celebrity"!!!!

^Kathy, people like you are a joke. First, she said she'd be willing to even just be Cameron's assistant. Humble much? Totally. She also sat down and thanked and interacted with her fans. Real and humble much? Totally again.

And just b/c you don't understand depth and philosophy doesn't mean she's the one with the problem. Stop blaming her for your lack of comprehension. Expand your mind. She's talking about how we are all striving for the same thing: enlightenment. We're naturally curious beings and that curiosity leads us to search always for growth and learning, just as if we are in school. She's saying, the body changes and develops according to how we live, DNA mutates and it affects future generations. Just like that, so does the psyche, the spirit, and the soul. What we absord and learn now impacts not only our own journey but that of those who will come after us. She's saying we're not alone, we're all searching for our own truths, empowerments, and enlightenments….she's saying that that is life and what it's all about. And she's right.

Apparently, there's more substance there than you know what to do with. Those who do not understand things resort to belittling those who do. It's very sad. Next time you don't understand something, just admit it. Don't attack someone who's just trying to get below the surface level of life out of jealousy. Some people, unlike you, have more than one level and a deeper perspective on life. Don't blame her b/c you don't. My suggestion to you is to re-read it slowly, open your mind, and try to think beyond the superficial level of existence, and then maybe you'll understand her message. And if you still don't, that's your problem, not her's.

In any effect, if she was smoking something when she wrote this, which she wasn't, I'll have some of THAT anyday.

Btw, she wasn't writing it for people like you guys who belittle others for their opinions, she was writing it for those with an open mind and love to spread. I think we've just learned which you are. I hope at some point in your life you are able to discover how to be the latter, I truly do.

Wow #94, I see what you mean! What could I have been thinking!!! I SEE THE LIGHT!!! HALLELUHUH, I SEE THE LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
It's not hard to see why you would relate so well to her! I'm sorry, I didn't read all of your impassioned(tee hee) letter, but I dozed off there for a minute. If it's all the same to you I would rather get my inspirations from people like: Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks!!!!
You need to check yourself, your showing your IGNORANCE!!!!!!

If you doze during my words and Michelle Rodriguez's words, I highly doubt you have the attention span and comprehension needed to understand the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi. No insult meant, I'm serious. Congrats that you can name a few of the biggest names in history. Do you know any of their actual messages? Or anyone else besides the obvious names? I mean really. That's the difference between someone of true passion for learning and growth, and those who ride the surface of existence and ridicule those who strive for more and participate iin self-exploration.

In any effect try reading up on all of those people YOU just listed. Apparently you don't know anything about any of them. Their teachings are about peace, tolerance, acceptance, love, and growth. They stand for integrity and push others to strive for knowledge, external and internal unity and internal happiness. Isn't it ironic that these very people you reference, you behave exactly the opposite of what they suggest you do. That's ironic since you claim to get inspiration from them. You're contradictory, hypocritical, and quite sad.

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." - Mahatma Gandhi

"The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood." - MLK Jr.

"If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it." - Mother Teresa

"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." - Nelson Mandela

"I do the very best I can to look upon life with optimism and hope and looking forward to a better day." - Rosa Parks

All messages of love, unity, peace….so then why must you bash others who attempt to give the same message? B/c you don't like her movies? B/c she's made mistakes in her life? These are simply her opinions and thoughts. Some peopel agree, some don't. That still doesn't mean you should insult, belittle, and nitpick, especially when her words are at least making an attempt at expressing love and understanding of life. What can you offer that's equal to that? Apparently nothing more than reciting the names of 5 people you've only ever read about in your Middle School History book. Again I suggest: Expand your mind.
