Miz Amy Winehouse has cancelled her performance at the Oya festival in Oslo tonight, Wednesday.

The cancellation came as a complete surprise, as her entire band was already in Oslo and had already
completed their sound-check!

No reason has been given (yet) for the no-show.

Maybe she had a tooth ache? Or perhaps she was having a bad hair day? Could they have run out of alcohol in all of Norway???

No blow, no show!

I have tix to her ny show in central park, so hopefully she decides to show up or i will be gravely dissapointed. However, i dont think the masses are taking into consideration the 'amy marketing machine' that is just beggining to take place. With every breath she is becomming so popular. This girls plate is unbelievably full. gig after gig. Just within the last 3 weeks she has been in london,ny,baltimore, & chicago (not to mention a bevy of other places promoting her album ) That lifestyle reads awfully frantic, I can only imagine the fatigue it would cause. Her handelers are trying so desperately to strike while the iron is scorching hot by sending her on all these gigs, and meanwhile her schedule seems so crammed & uncomfortably packed. Yes she is making $, but @ the comprimise of her life. Not encouriging her behavior, but I would personally be pooped from being run into the ground like a slave horse repeating the same melody day after day to the point where I wasnt even sure what country i was in.

@#32 - steph - That's all well and good but what about the less exposed acts that would kill for her booking and publicity. I understand that a hectic schedule would bog anybody down but you don't see other acts canceling as much as her. I am a fan of her music and could care less about her personal life. @#38 rayder- You are absoloutely right. Other acts would kill for this type of publicity & 'all of a sudden' fame. But there are also people like her who wouldnt. And I also agree that it is totally disrespectful to set up a show & then abandon. But something tells me that she is not the one calculating her schedule, it is her managing team. If you were her manager, & she was your cash cow, you would send her on every gig possible to make that $. It seems management in showbusiness in general has a tendancy to not look after the health & well being of their 'star' in question quite as well when they begin to make $ because when the star becomes a hot commodity, and your 'product' is selling well, then the best thing to do is mass produce. Unfortunately the mass production of a singer (ie Amy Winehouse) becomes difficult as she is not a machine. I suppose if no one is taking her youth & inexperience into consideration & is instead overshadowing her inability to be a machine with her ability to sing there will be a constant conflict of interest & she will rebel. Im not saying it is the right thing to do, but it is a typical reaction of being forced to do something that is overwhelming to ones personal will
