Is Ricky Martin in a secret relationship? Or is he just talking in the third person?

Only gays (like Perezzzz) talk in the third person!

The singer told reporters in Puerto Rico on Wednesday that he wants kids - perhaps adopting "one from each continent" if possible.

How very Angelina of him!

"It's something we want to begin to create this year, a family of many colors," said Enriquetta.

"I want to do it right," he said. "I don't want any problems or misunderstandings. … Some think as celebrities we can manipulate the system to have a quicker adoption."

Who is this WE? Does "we" wanna say hello to the world???

      Actually, "we" is the first person plural. "I" is the first person singular.

      Third person singular would be "He/She/It" (e.g. Ricky Martin feels HE wants to adopt children at this time."

      Third person plural would be "They" (e.g. Ricky Martin says he and his live-in lover are ready to adopt. THEY want children as soon as possible.). There you have it.

      Though we agree. Ricky's use of "we" does imply there is a "we" to use…interesting…

      No way he can adopt from every continent. I am an adoptive parent who adopted from Russia. Right now no single people can adopt from Russia, China, Ukraine, and there are no countries that I know of that allow single men to adopt( single women, yes) and if he is gay, he'd never pass the homestudy to be able to adopt. Maybe a U.S. adoption would be possible but not international. Sorry Ricky, do your research.

      Ok, maybe gaytalk is a science itself (dunno - don`t have personal exp. that way) but the "we" may be used as retorical trick (it`in the books since the ol' greeks were in charge of the world) .

      It`s a subtle and well used technique to give for example the patient the feeling that the speaker is in the same boat even on the first meeting.

      Nevertheless a final warning, talking of "we" while beeing alone may be a signal word for a personal dilemma, or worse ;-) .
