I know of many gays serving in the military. I know a few that have put in for active duty in Iraq and other hotspots. I love and respect them, regardless of who they are.

You know, i never comment but after today i just had too. I find it extremely annoying how the celebrities travel over to military bases to give the troops their support (which is nice)..when the true supporters, the soldier families are not even welcome over there. If they want to give back to the military and show support, donate money to families that want to see their husbands, fathers, uncles, brothers, etc when they are deployed over seas 1, 2, 3, 4 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are not many excuses for avoiding military service - and I think much of Hollywood could use a 16 month deployment. Shit, just stay in the compound doing support work - that would impress me.

I am reading these comments and I noticed a few that were negative towards the military. Coming from a female who served in the military, a lot of us did not join because we could not get into college or because we were slackers. Not all of us were privledged to be able to afford college. Personally I decided to join because the military gives you experience in a career field of your choice and also gives you money for college. I am now done with my service to our country and am continuing my education and I am now serving in a different way. I know that the Iraq war is BS…I served there. I have been to Afghanistan and other places in the middle east. I do agree…Bush is a douche. But don't blame the troops. Its not their fault that they have to do what the president tells them. And you will never hear any one of them complain.
If anything, some of these celebs need a quick kick in the ass to let them know there is more to this world then drugs, money sex and fame.
