One of our favorite lesbians in Hollywood, Jodie Foster, is on the cover of the new issue of More, a magazine for "mature" women.
She's only 44!
Regardless, it's fascinating to take a look inside the brain of the multiple Oscar winner.

On privacy:
“In 20 years, people will look back on my life and I’ll be 65 and Britney Spears will be 45, and I think by then people will understand the value of privacy.”
On her idols:
“Katharine Hepburn had a really long career. I look forward to aging on-screen, to making movies when I’m 65, 70, to playing the parts of real older women. I’d love to have the career of Meryl Streep. But I’m not sure I’ll want to work as much as she does in her fifties.”
On plastic surgery:
“It’s not my thing…I’d rather have somebody go, ‘Wow, that girl has a big nose” than “Wow, that girl has a bad nose job.’ I’d rather have a comment about who I am than about something that identifies me as being ashamed of who I am.”
On gun control:
“Isn’t it possible that we all have that bit of insanity in us? That’s why I’m for gun control. Absolutely. Hunting, I get that – let’s protect hunting. But I don’t believe that people should have access to life-or-death situations at any emotional time in their life. I don’t really believe that a human being who feels [things] should have the option at their fingertips.”
About the loneliness of an actor:
“Whether I like to admit it or not – and usually I don’t like to admit it – the stuff I do affects me. It’s this strange lonely thing. It’s hard to explain what it is to lie in a pool of fake blood for four days and just be thinking those thoughts…There’s a real sadness to it. So I don’t want to do that more than once a year.”
On being famous:
“I’ve learned a lot of lessons over the years. One is that if I weren’t famous again and no one knew who I was, I’d be perfectly happy.”
On family:
“Every once in a while I’ll have one of those days when I’ve fed the fish, cleaned 10 poops from the patio, taken the cat to the vet, sewn my son’s stupid karate stars on until my fingers bleed and made sure that he has everything, and he wakes up and goes, ‘Oh, what’s for breakfast?’ he doesn’t know, and why should he? Right? But there’s absolutely no sort of acknowledgements or reward for this – except for the intangible of my kids growing up to be wonderful people. I do find myself in the garage listening to NPR because I want to have a stimulating side to my life…The only thing about having kids is that I miss being alone.”
On the upside of being 44:
“I think the pressure’s off. The hardest part of my personal neuroses is that I feel responsible for everything. I put so much pressure on myself, and I always did as a kid. There’s a nice thing about turning a certain age where you’ve made so many life decisions; so many nonchosen paths are behind you, and you don’t have to worry about them anymore.”

Without a doubt, one of the most down to earth and amazing actresses in the world of Cinema.
as nice as she's portrayed in this puff piece, there are others who've suffered significant career defeats at her hands, those whom she has backstabbed for her own gain, and those who frankly, don't think she's all that talented. On the latter point, i'm one of 'those'.

I used to work in the film biz- a worker bee in the art department and worked on 2 of her films, one she was in, and one she directed.
I have to say, that for the 15 or so years that I was a working stiff in the movies, she was one of the few stars who took the time to shoot the breeze and swap stories with us lowly local crew members.
I remember her as a genuine person, down to earth, and very un-star-like. If she chooses to keep her gender preference private, that is her perogative.
I can't speak to the one poster's accusation of backstabbing, but I have to say, as a 42 year old, one of her contemporaries, I was happy to see my issue of More arrive yesterday with her on the cover (it's for over 40's, BTW, not "old people", thanksverymuch).
This what happens when all the trainwrecks totally skew our perspective. Someone with some sense comes along and they sound like wise old grandma, because everyone else is so out of control.
Ms. Foster is gorgeous, smart and talented. As far as her sexuality, who cares? I think everyone already knows anyway. She is a classy chick that many younger celebs can learn a lot from. We love you, Jodie!

I grew up with Jodie (I think Perez missed her age by a tad cuz we are approx. the same age), and she looks great. I don't care whether she's a lesbian or not–that's her business. What does everyone expect her to do? Get on top of Mt. Everest or some other such precipice and yell it as loudly as possible? I have known for quite some time that she is lesbian, and while admittedly I was initially disappointed (not because of homophobic reasons, but because I would love to see her DNA carry on to future generations), I still love her. She is intelligent, beautiful without any surgery, and seems like a really cool woman. She is an EXCELLENT actress, but not ALL of her movies are great. However, she always puts 100% into whatever she does. I really think she is gorgeous with an awesome physique, and if I were lesbian I would totally be interested because she is the whole package (no she DOES NOT remind of of Lilo, Jodie has talent). I remember watching Jodie playing Dodie's friend on My Three Sons when she was real little. She always played the tomboy roles as well as in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore in 1975. She is a talented and great actress with two Academy Awards to be proud of. She speaks French fluently, and she has a degree from Yale in literature. I would hardly call her a "has-been" pink pink. She has had a lifetime of acting achievements under her belt, and she was the original Coppertone girl in the ads. She still performs in films when she want to.
Whoever said she looks uncomfortable in women's clothes is twisted. Jodie looks great in jeans, and she looks great in a dress. She plays straight in the majority of her movies, and while I know she's lesbian, she is very credible in those roles. As a matter of fact, after seeing the chemistry she had with Mel Gibson in Maverick, I seriously started to wonder if she was bi. Anyway, just wanted to say that I think she feels just as comfortable in a dress as she does in jeans, and in my opinion, she looks prettier in dresses. One year she wore blue to the Academy Awards, and the sight of her literally took my breath away–blue is definitely her color. Gorgeous woman.
Mia she gave birth to her two kids. She never mentioned who the father (s) were/was and some assumed she got a sperm donor. So don't worry her dna will live on. She keeps it right by staying out of the lime light. It's started to get old knowing every single detail of these pppls lives.

Jodi Foster is fabulous at any age (and happens to be my own). She has shown how to transition from being a child star through the awkwardness of late teens/20s without a hitch. If she wants to be gay, or not, it's no one's business. I'm sure she'd announce it to the world if she felt she had to do that but she's way too cool for such things.
As for her privacy, I wonder how many Perez readers remember the trauma she suffered in the early 1980s when John Hinkley, Jr., who shot Ronald Reagan, was completely obsessed with her and her whole "Taxi Driver" movie persona. As someone who was once ferociously stalked, I can completely understand her need for privacy (and I'm not even famous).
She has enormous talent, grace, and guts, and in recent years has put her children first. Go Jodi!
