Jane Seymour 'neighbour from hell' claim residents who plan protest

Former Bond girl Jane Seymour was today branded a "neighbour from hell" and warned that angry residents plan to march on her country home.

Seymour, 56, who starred in the James Bond movie Live And Let Die, upset locals after she was given a 24-hour alcohol and entertainment licence for St Catherine's Court, near Bath.

She and producer husband James Keach reportedly live there for three months a year and rent out the property for private functions.

But neighbours say the Grade I-listed venue is unsuitable for hosting large corporate parties and are fed up with revellers disturbing their tranquillity.

Delivery vans and lorries have begun clogging up the singletrack lane since the licence was agreed in June. St Catherine's Valley residents plan a march on her home on Sunday to hand over a petition of hundreds of signatures.

Jane Jones, 53, said: "She just ignores our letters and doesn't answer the door.

"They are the absent neighbours from hell. She will go back to America and just count the money while the rest of us have to live here and put up with the disruption."

The parish council has appealed to have the licence overturned.

A full hearing is expected to take place at Bath magistrates court in November.

Ian Plaister, chairman of St Catherine parish council, said: "The anger and frustration about the way in which the owners have chosen to go about this has left us with no option but legal action."

Hein van Vorstenbosch, who manages the estate for Seymour, has previously said he worked closely with Bath and North East Somerset council's licensing team over the application and the dispute was now in the hands of lawyers.

      If it's her house let her do what she wants too with it. She's owned that home for years, and it's even been on the life styles of the rich and famous with Robyn Leach, back when that show existed. These village idiots have had more than enough time to sell and move out if it's such a pain in the ass to them, heaven knows just her having bought there has increased their property values significantly.       She has made enough money in her lifetime to not have to lease out her home in this way. I should think she would want to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the place when she is there and not have to worry about drunks ripping into the plaster walls. Also, I should think she'd want to be a good neighbor. This whole thing just stinks of greed and all of the American traits that Brits hate us for…even though "Jane Seymour" (not her real name) is British born and bred. This is a very upscale, wealthy area and the very idea that people will be having a good time and making any noise at all is shocking! So what, the license was approved, as it usually is with entertainment venues.
      I live in the UK and the wealthy really do feel like they have every right in the world. They all want to go on holidays, but they always want the airport runway in someone else's back yard.
      Too bad! Live among the muck like the rest of us! No one ever asked us if we wanted the new Wembley stadium built a mile away. We could never have petitioned to keep the Live Earth concert noise down.

      used to work at the Red Cross for which Jane was on the "celebrity cabinet." she was referred to as Dr. Quinn Medicine BITCH…because she was a huge one. For humanitarian non-profit, she made ridiculous requests — 1st class airfare everywhere, not just for her, but husband, kids, entourage to Africa and other destinations.       Why is everyone ranking on Jane so much? For crying out loud - its a TWENTY-FOUR hour alcohol and entertainment license. She is just throwing a single party. Who hasn't thrown a summer party at their home before? What does it matter if she lives there one day out of the year or 365 days? I'm assuming she pays the mortgage and the taxes, so its her right as a property owner to have guests over when she desires. Like some others have said, other celebrities might not have even obtained the proper license, but it seems as if she is trying to do the right thing and went through all the proper legal channels. Her neighbors need to get a life, cut her some slack, and let her have a single day/night's party. Then - back to business as usual. Its really not a big deal! :-)

When the kids got sick (kids do tend to get sick from time to time) it was somehow the nanny's fault. And heaven forbid if she gave them peanut butter. It's true, she's a total bitch from hell. She's been through about 50 nannies. They all quit because she treats them and everybody around her like dirt. Oh, and her kids themselves call her crazy behind her back. Because, she is. That being said, these neighbors need to take their complaining to the license board. At least Jane got a permit the legal way. I promise you she will not give a shit about any protests or letters or anything.
