And even if that is not the case, I am still angered by the comments. As student athletes you can not compare the Rutgers team to entertainers who willing put their lives in the limelight. The "Nappy-Headed Ho" comment was not only unsolicited ,it was totally out of context with the event taking place i.e. the basketball game. Unfortunately for Don Imus he made a mistake, and now he must face the concequences. I don't necessarily think that she should get a huge lump sum; however, he does deserve what he gets. It is her prerogative to sue him; likewise, it is Brittney Spears prerogative to do the same to Perez Hilton and any other gossip columnist or blogger she sees fit. Calling someone a ho who is not in the business of selling sex is offensive no matter their race. There is a reason there are laws protecting citizens against libel and slander.
