If he were honest about his intentions, we'd have a lot more respect for him.
Michael should just say, "Yes, I want to be famous. I want a TV show. I want to ride my troubled daughter's coattails."
Instead, he continues to claim his motives are altruistic - as he talks to EVERY media outlet in the world.
This interview that crazy Poppa Lohan gave to The Observer is one of the most substantive pieces ever written on him.
It's long but there's some gems in there, like when he talks about how his fellow inmates would torture him with defiled pictures of Lindsay in Maxim.

Nice to see that micheal is NOT defiling his daughter by constantly running his mouth. He has class, high morals and has obviously educated himself about the devastation that is addiction. I am overjoyed that he is now opening his very own rehab facility in the Hamptons (which I am sure will be very successful)
The depth of love that this man feels for his daughter, who is going through hell right now, is admirable. He has consistently put Lindsay's needs before any self interest he has and that's what being a parent is all about. Micheal would do anything to see that his beloved daughter gets well and has a happy life.
The sacrifices this man has made for his family are too numerous to name, but I for one think he is father of the year material.
I truly wish Lindsay well, she has many issues to work out and it wont be easy.

Writing a song isn't going to make up for how he treated his daughter. I think he should actually feel pretty guilty about how Lindsay turned out. I was actually reading an article in In Touch today, and it was a tell-all deal of Lindsay's body guard (which I believe I've read more than one tell all from her bodyguards. One of them I think just quit from being her bodyguard and the other I read about today quit in 2005) and Micheal Lohan was making commentary and denying this and denying that. I normally don't believe these people and happen to think telling all about your ex-boss to a tabloid is both tacky and unprofessional, but I believed all that he said about Micheal and Lindsay. I think it was definetly fabricated to a certain extent, but the foundation of it all seemed pretty real to me.
