      Carmen should record as much or as little as she wants to. Music is subjective, and a personal passion. If Perez has a story that flops, does he decide that once was enough, sugar? No. An ability is an ability whether it's been hilighted in a financially successful way or not. I know some astounding musicians who have never recorded. Artists who paint and draw for themselves and not for the cash. Gardeners who garden for themselves but don't try to grow acres to sell for profit, etc., so Go Carmen. If you had musical skills before Prince, then you still have them after.

      HERE'S MY ASSESSMENT:
      I remember back in the '80s when she was one of Prince's girls (he had a long line of them: remember Kat, Sheena Easton, the Diamonds & Pearls girls, etc.) The only single that was released was that song "Go Go Dancer."

      Here's my question: she released that song with the backing and publicity of Prince and it STILL bombed. BUT, in this day an age, who knows? The record might be a hit. I say this because it is now an age where society focuses more on image, than talent. Case in point: JLo, Britney, Lindsey. All the ones I just mentioned have mediocre voices, and pretty much made it in the (music) industry either through image, dancing, or a combination of both. Furthermore, lip singing isn't frowned upon as much today.

      Back when she released "Go Go Dancer" it was in the Milli-Vanilli lip singing scandal. Remember that? Back in the day, lip singing was blasphemy. So much so that it pretty much ruined Milli-Vanilli's career to the point that one of the singers (the lighter skinned one) commited suicide.

      I HIGHLY doubt Carmen will be the next Kylie or Rhianna. But she has nothing to lose. Especially since we're a society that accepts mediocre talent fed to us by the media. This is all evident by music downloads. If the public stopped buying it, they wouldn't produce this fluff/garbage anymore. I say lets go retro and only let real artists take the mic! That's my 2 cents, anyways.
