A Dutch artist, Frans Smeets, has created a sculpture of the U2 frontman, in Jesus garb with a Nike sign and Emporio Armani sunglasses. At his feet lies a dying African child in which he is totally disinterested.

The controversial work is entitled "Jesus Loves You Too."

      That poses a very interesting point about all these self-rightous celebs … but I guess they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. I suppose atleast Bono makes an effort to try and do something about less fortunate people, even if his efforts are shit and pointless concerts that don't help anybody except the artists who perform.

      This is AWESOME!! And about time. What it means is that hypercritical RED charity (supported by Nike / Armani & Oprah!) ONLY gives money to AIDS drugs (which benefit pharmaceutical co’s) and NOT condoms or safe sex education in Africa. Because of his religious beliefs Bono is supporting “abstinence only” programs, just like the Bush Administration, programs which have been repeatedly proven as failures. Bono would rather give money to the expensive USELESS end user “band aid” ideas instead of actually preventing the disease — all because of religion.

      I personally think this is ridiculous. Even if he does wear "evil corporate" attire, Bono has done a lot for awareness & action regarding the situation in Africa and continues to use his popularity to do so.

      The worst part is that if he just cashed his checks and didn't give a crap about anyone but himself, probably no one would say anything this negative about him. Why tear someone down who's at least trying to make a difference?

      People who are so quick to call Bono a "Douche", or a "Fake" need to remember "Live Aid". Just because you are rich does not mean you have to give up your money. These guys have spent the last 30+ YEARS doing what they do!!!!!!With out them how many would know about amnesty international? I wouldn't.
