Listen To This: The New Sound Machine
We're thrilled and proud that one of our favorite new bands, The Postmarks, are from our hometown of Miami. Especially because their music is as un-Miami as it gets!
You'd expect to hear The Postmarks in a really cool French film.
Their sound is pretty pop with a retro feel.
The Postmarks are like a really good glass of wine, rich and sweet and enjoyed in small sips throughout a long and lovely dinner.
Enjoy three lush songs below, Let Go, Weather The Weather and Goodbye. Their songs are so good, we can't just single ONE out.
Then CLICK HERE to listen to some other sublime music from The Postmarks.

Last bitches
Perez….is there crack in your coffee because you are posting new stuff constantly!!!
FIRSTTT WOOOOTTT
Love love love their sound… I got their album a week or so ago and can't stop listening to it
Perez…do you smoke weed when you listen to this?!
i'm def not a fan
You might as well call this website 'Perez thinks he can pick good music, but he cant'. Your taste in music sucks badly, almost as you similes…

I don't know which end I should get to the toilet first.. my face or ass.
betch!
yuck
Bah, they've been around for a long time. They're not that new. However, they are very good.
Hey "PETE WENTZ": your not first, dick…And now i am going to stick mine up your ass for being such a fag about it.
Lovin their sound Perez
perez stop taking money to post these things, dey suck nd u know it!!
michael moore is in a band??
Very strange sound. The repetitive sound and cadence tempo in each song makes it sound too similar. It's a good beginning, however. They have potential. I'll probably like them more after I stay awake for three days and sniff freon from my AC unit.
this sounds like every other band/song on KCRW. nothing at all special about them. sorry perez.
Edith Piaf and Charles Azanavour they ain't!
i love it
It's the little girl/kitten voice variety of "indie". I can't take it and it's hardly original. I guess it's not the worst music ever but, similar to what another poster wrote, I'd have to be tripping pretty hard to find it even tolerable. Also, I too think you should Stop with the music recomendations. You're taste is highly questionable. I guess you try though. That counts for something.
Chick is trying to look like Alanis M
i loveeee the postmarks!!! i found their cd at my moms work like 8 months ago before it cme out to the masses and its great!! im so glad they're getting publicity through perez… good choice per per
I'm loving this. I'll buy thier CD this week but I doubt they'll get much play since they don't sound like the thousands of poptart clones currently polluting the airwaves.
They sound like SHIT!!! I think The Skid Marks would be a better band name for them!
Dude…this band sucks….sorry.
ooooo, Perez!!!! I'm impressed, I fucking ADORE The Postmarks. The 2 bands in their top friends, IVY and BROOKVILLE are amazing too!!!
Yay, i'm so pleased you picked them out…now just fucking check out BLONDFIRE and I'll die a happy man.
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it!
A bit melancholy for my tastes, just nothing to grab on to. Ehhhhhhhhh, pass
is that michael moore behind them?
i love their music but i saw them in concert at studio a in miami and they girl put me to sleep. no stage presence whatsoever. i know the music is very chill but when i saw the submarines which have a similar style they kept the crowd going.
Boring
Justine Batmane has a band……..Mallory?
perez sounds like my mom when she's trying to get me into a "cool" new band! haha! 'they sounds sorta RETRO!"
YEAH MOM! fuckin great. hahaha
balls in my mouth
I've been in Miami for 13 yrs and I \'ve never heard of ém not even on a "karaoke Night"..let's just give em a try ..

Boooooring. Please repeat after me. Partridge Family.
horrible music - a poor version of the cranberries who sucked also
I just wanna let you know….The Postmarks aren't from Miami, they're from Delray Beach and that's more than an hour north, I'd know…I live here!
OH MY FUCKING GOD!
THATS MY FRIEND JON WILKINS!!!
WE'VE DJ TOGETHER BEFORE, AND I AM SOOOO HAPPY FOR HIM!!!!
(*didn't mean to wake you up jon!)
This time next year Perez will have outed at least two of the members.
Oh hail yayash
They are a complete carbon copy of Au Revoir Simone. Seriously, I wouldn't even be able to distinguish one difference between them and The Postmarks. So if you like this, check out Au Revoir Simone, who are very similar but more original.

Hey perez!
My first comment on your blog.. there's gotta be a first time for everything, right?
Thanks for this great tip! I just bought the cd and love it! Muchos Gracias!
Are you being paid for mentioning their name 4 times?
lol
Most contemporary bandnames starting with 'The ..' are lame, in my opinion.
i dont know why people are being negative about this band i like it.. everybody's taste is different so don't say people can't pick music..
re: shannon: while one of the guys lived briefly in delray he moved back to ft. laud over a year ago. the girl lives in boca and the other dude lives/works part time in miami/ft. lauderdale. he was in the miami alternative band 23 which also had dj ursula 1000 in it. worst case maybe a south florida band?
besides why does location matter if they are bringing good attention to an area? typical south florida, whether sports or entertainment, people are never there to support you locally and the minute some good stuff happens all the haters show up. fun stuff!
god damn, that's good! kinda reminds me of THE SOFTIES. very nice.
they sound exactly like the acid house kings, a band from sweden.
Like their sound a lot….they sound like Ivy.
Is it just me or are these tunes just aching to be on a future hit movie soundtrack?
jeez…i saw them at studio a as well and i thought they were awesome. their music is more in your face live then on the album. yes, the singer is reserved but it suits the noise going on around her. kinda like the chick from mazzy star. not every singer needs to be gwen stefani running around doing jumping jacks on stage.
Good stuff Perez…I LUV IT!!!
not my style
es ist zum kotzen
shit…
sorry
to each his (or her) own…
’bout time for something different sounding! not what i would expect from florida. tasty!
