Fagulous singer Darren Hayes was arrested in London this past weekend.
Why?
For a racially motivated verbal attack on a waiter at a Thai restaurant.
A manager at the Busaba Eathai restaurant in Soho (the gayborhood) confirmed the incident and said that it involved a verbal attack by Hayes on a member of staff and that the matter was now being investigated by police.
Racism is not cool!
But…..
You can get arrested for saying not so nice things in the UK????

Most of Europe now has "hate speech" laws that allow people to be arrested for saying "not so nice things." The US Supreme Court held that "hate speech" laws violated the 1st Amendment in the early 90's. So it doesn't happen in the USA.

Here in the US our free speech is protected, in the UK it is not. A lot of people don't know this, but people have gone to jail for years for posting "hate speech" on blogs. Just think if that was the case here, half of the people on this site would be in jail. If the democrates have their way, that just may be a reality.
