Making the most of her time off, the recently departed View co-host will be officially performing stand-up comedy in NYC for the first time in years.

New York, NY (August 23, 2007) - The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) announces today that Rosie O'Donnell is joining the roster of stars taking the stage for the ultimate comedy festival the week of November 6-11, 2007 at top venues throughout the city. Rosie will perform on the NYCF's opening night Tuesday, November 6 at 8:00 pm at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. She will be joined by a number of special guests. Rosie's performance will benefit her organization Rosie's Broadway Kids, an education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts.

"I am honored to open this year's New York Comedy Festival! There is no better city in the world and I am looking forward to taking the stage for a great cause," says O'Donnell.

The Fourth Annual NYCF's roster also includes celebrated comics Sarah Silverman performing at Carnegie Hall on November 7; Denis Leary at the Beacon Theatre on November 8; Louis CK at Town Hall on November 8; Artie Lange at Town Hall on November 9; Damon Wayans at the Beacon Theatre on November 9; Bill Maher at the Beacon Theatre on November 10 and Seth MacFarlane at Avery Fisher Hall on November 11.

The 2007 NYCF is presented by Carolines on Broadway and The Alliance Agency, American Express, exclusive broadcast partners WNYW/Fox 5 and WWOR/My9 New York, internet media sponsor MySpace.com, The New York Post and Time Out New York.

      She was funny years ago when she was on the VH1 comedy shows. She was still sort of funny when she had her daytime show. Once she left the show, came out of the closet and got her hair cut, she's nauseating.
