"Former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega can be extradited to France to serve a 10-year sentence for money laundering charges a Federal judge in Miami ruled. " Federal announcement, just the wrong dictator. Sorry, Perez, but people have been "reporting" Castro's death since the Bay of Pigs. You're not the first and you won't be the last to err on old Methusalah's death.

#129: you don't want egg on your face? why- because you took what a so- called gossip blogger said and told people? hahaha.

  6. jeb says – reply to this

wow. i wonder if this will change anything. he certainly was a powerful and charismatic man, regardless of any flaws… can't imagine his brother has as much strength, though maybe all of castro's stuff in place is strong enough to survive much after his death. i always assumed that the u.s.'s hatred for the man and his policies was some sort of irrational cold war craziness, but over the years, through many conversations with defectors and/or their children, i understand the widespread hatred of this man and know that many will celebrate. i am not very educated on his bad acts, however, outside of watching FREDA, and feel more educated about the noble idea behind it all- that all men should be equal and have access to the same things. too bad it will never be possible to accomplish such a thing because people aren't equal and people are greedy. anyhow, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out and if anything changes. i agree with perez though, be careful cubans and people in miami… don't get reckless in the celebration.

U.S. Senior officials said that while there are reports on setbacks in Fidel Castro's health, there are no indications that his death is imminent.

Nothing unusual has been reported from Havana. However, Miami is ablaze with rumors, NBC News reported.

On Thursday, Cuba's foreign minister said rumors about Fidel Castro's deteriorating health are untrue.

Felipe Perez Roque made the comments to reporters while attending the Forum for East Asia-Latin American Cooperation in Brazil.

Cubans were hoping Fidel would make a public appearance during his birthday celebrations nearly two weeks ago.

When asked if the 81-year-old Castro was still in charge of Cuban affairs, Roque said, "He is being informed and consulted constantly."

Your credibility is wasting away along with the minutes… you better be right about this one or you'll lose all credibility you've built up all these months.
No news channel looks like they're getting ready to announce something this big.

  13. Anon says – reply to this

Crickets chirping. I say you need better sources. If the annoucement comes later today, I'll eat my words, but it's not looking good.

  14. Nick says – reply to this

Is Fidel Castro dead? There has been a ton of speculation on the Communist dictator's demise since it was reported that his health took a turn for the worse after his 81st birthday on August 13th. The Fidel deathwatch is on. Much of the speculation is coming from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Fidel Castro Dead? Death Rumors Hit Internet

On his website he has this: Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that U.S. officials will be holding a press conference shortly to announce the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. South Florida police organizations are calling in reinforcements before the announcement is made, we're told."

There has been no official report but denials are already out. According to "The Age" the communist leader has not appeared in public for more than a year, but he has appeared in photographs and eight videos. The last video was shown June 5. He continues "in process of recovery", Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque said.

"In particular, he keeps in constant touch with the leaders of Cuba's (Communist) Party and government," he added. Asked if Castro was still in charge of Cuban affairs, Roque said: "Exactly, he is being informed and consulted constantly and works all the time."

Sorry, dude. You're still a blogger, not a journalist.

  19. Dave says – reply to this

    Perez -

You really need to check your sources! If you had any credibility before, it's now all gone. Stick to the stuff you know. This type of news is WAY out of your league!

Come on. If you're wrong, it cancels out all of your Winehouse stock. Just like W, you got "capital" and you just couldn't wait to spend it. Burned a hole in your pocket, di'n't it, Penecito?

Funny, talking about Castro and capital in the same post. But then few of you numbnuts will understand this anyway, so writing here is just like journaling…

I only hope this will have positive change for the people of Cuba. i say the mafia gets back in there and makes Havana like it was in the 1950's - that would be cool…

WOW!!! I had no idea that the propaganda in the US has reached such an extreme…. and to the jennzz person: you really need to do some reading and stop watching cnn. Canada does not pay 60% in tax, and their medical system is way better. And to all you people celebrating his death, don’t believe everything you hear, the US would have raped that country for it’s resources and cubans would not have healthcare, education, etc etc etc.

    AHEM….apolgy deserved…

Not happy with this. You need to check your sources before gloating about how you were the FIRST ONE to REPORT HIS DEATH!

I'mma be real disappointed if this isn't true. It'd be one thing if you said it was a rumor but you said it was a FACT. THAT THERE WAS GOIGN TO BE A PRESS RELEASE.

This is serious stuff. His presence here on Earth is heartbreaking to so many, and to get their hopes up like that???

    Shame on you

  41. Duh says – reply to this

Does anyone really believe that if Fidel Castro dies that there will be any changes in Cuba? It just doesn't take one, frail 80 something year old to run a country but an ideology and a government. His brother has been running the show for months so before everyone in Miami pulls out the streamers and mojitos just realize that your celebrations will just turn bitter when you wake up tomorrow morning to find Raul standing where Fidel had left off. Sad but true.

  42. ZIG says – reply to this

You guys are lying - no other news is stating he died, tell us more about Amy Winehouse!

  43. Martha says – reply to this

  64. Grace E. says – reply to this

Ask local & national media why PerezHilton, an internet "gossip Blogger" was prevy to such important relevent news infroming the public before the "real news"? Mind it is 4:20 eastern time and no news of death of Castro.

  65. MissTerman says – reply to this

    Hey, Miss Thang.
Did you mean 4pm TODAY?!? Or maybe you're gonna pull the same shit you did last week?!? Stick to the gossip and painting jizz on celeb's faces and leave the news to those that know wtf they're talking about.

  66. Rafelito says – reply to this

Perez-Hilton, you're usually a pretty cool guy but you totally blew it on this one. You have no idea how many people here in miami get worked up over something like this. Complete asshole move, buddy…. Eres un singado!

  67. Jose says – reply to this

So lemme get this straight: The go-to sources for this story are this web site and another called Babalu. It must be true.

  68. ftmyersfl says – reply to this

The 4pm announcement out of Miami was not about Castro's death. Today, a Federal judge in Miami ruled that Manuel Noriega can be extradited to France to serve a 10-year sentence for money laundering charges. Check your sources Perez before you make these kinds of announcements!

  69. anonymous says – reply to this

Are you certain of this Perez? No news outlets are reporting anything at all and over on Drudge Report there is an article saying the Cuban government is denying he is even close to death.

  70. liliana says – reply to this

    But you're still a babe!

  82. Linis says – reply to this

Fidel Castro died in 1981, and was replaced by a look-alike CIA plant. The dictator ate tainted shellfish and died. CIA infiltrators wasted no time in covering this up, and installing an agent named Alexis Papagos to impersonate Castro, and run the country. This information comes to THE UNCOVEROR via Cuban national, Igor Davidovich Martinez.

Why, then, does the U.S. government maintain the embargo against Cuba? "The CIA is turning a great profit by selling contraband Cuban goods on the black market," says Martinez, "and they don't want to give that up." The CIA sees to it that the embargo stays.

What tipped Martinez off? Before 1981, the real Fidel Castro nearly always wore a military uniform. After that year, "Castro," really Alexis Papagos, appeared more often in civilian clothing.

This prompted Martinez, and several others to start digging. Of those who discovered this deception, only Martinez remains alive.

The plot almost failed. A few people in 1981 heard of Castro's death, and began a rumor that he had died of syphilis, but the CIA quickly made those people, some of them Americans, Disappear. They needed the world to think that Castro was still alive. They didn't want you to know, but thanks to THE UNCOVEROR, now you do.

    This is anti-castrist bullshit.

  89. You Blew It says – reply to this

Dude - you really blew it this time! You have to fact check before making things public. This is what differentiates you (a rumor starter) vs. someone who is a credible news person.

Look, I enjoy what you do. It's funny and has it's place in society. However, you need to stay away from things like this unless you intend on becoming a news outlet instead.

Perez, you are a rumor mill. This type of rumor is too big for you to start - riots begin this way, people get hurt or even killed. Do you even understand the seriousness of your actions? This isn't Lindsey Lohan getting a DUI.

  90. LL says – reply to this
