Lifelong friend and former Fugees partner Pras is talking some more about Lauryn Hill's many problems.
In an interview with AJ's Playhouse on 93.3 FM in San Diego on Friday morning, Pras told the radio show that Lauryn Hill is mentaly ill.
He says, "Lauryn Hill is like to me the greatest artist in the last 25 or 30 years, but - still - if you mentaly ill, you mentally ill. I'm not no expert, but based on my profesional opinion, she needs medication. I think it's bipolar. The thing is, when you're around someone like that that you love and grew up with, you don't wanna believe that kind of behavior really exists. It seems so unreal."

PEREZ HILTON I think you are a hypocrite by claiming that Lauryn Hill has lost her mind without any source of proof, people like you are just jealous racists trying to promote hatred and demean talented black artists who want to change the world with their music and to expose irresponsible journalism that is perpetuated by idiots like you. People are just over-reacting. That racist rumour is so old, tired and just untrue. If people know her family background, have been following her music old and new, and have read her words, and listen to what she is saying, then people will understand that Ms. Hill is far from being racist. I don’t understand why people would think Lauryn is promoting black supremacy with her music, I mean choosing a musical political route has got nothing to do with racism. Her talent is purely based on her ability to be lyrically relevant, important, unique, and genius. In actual fact great artists send moral messages to the world and are politically astute. Artists like that will be remembered for generations and generations to come because of their powerful lyrics. And to call that racism is purely stupid and ignorant. Just because she did not adopt the white standards of beauty, like those fake blond weaves and the portrayal of sex gimmick images, black women degrading themselves all over the entertainment industry, and we want to call her racist, we truly have a lost generation. I admire Lauryn for embracing her roots and cultures instead of ditching her heritage like some of the unintelligent, ignorant bimbos that are currently dominating the music industry.

It really shows that most of the people here their school system has literally failed them miserably. People here need to develop what I call thinking skills especially you Perez Hilton. That would include such things as the ability to judge the source and quality of information, cipher out fact from fiction, learn to evaluate evidence and draw logical conclusions. There's only one explanation for Ms. Hill's bizarre behavior and absense from The Biz. Lauryn is probably fighting the Monster I call drugs.
When you use drugs you cannot help the person you become. The public just has to wait it out, hopefully she can save herself before even worse things are seen from our loved one.

First, let me begin by saying who the bleep is Pras to air Lauryn's personal information like that whether it is true or not. He says he love her. That's a weird way to confirm your love by revealing some deep sh@! like that. He says, "i'm not expert. but based on my professional opinion…" this sentence in of itself is a contradiction. When did he degree in Psych? Is he licensed to diagnose mental disorders? And if so, wouldn't this break patient and doctor confidentiality? He should loose his "professional opinion" license. Pras is a buster to sell out a friend. Oh yeah we forget he was the Fugee in the background, so without Lauryn he can't sell music. Has anyone seen Pras' greatest hits in stores? Mental disorders have a huge stigma attached to them and for any person (even low profiled stars such as Pras) to cast dipersion is on them is not only arrogant but plain wrong. My suggestion to Pras is to work on your documentary to helping the homeless rather using the radio to hurt your friend any others. Keep your bleeping comments to yourself, you selfish bleep !!!!
Finally to a true artist, lyricist, poety, and MC, in the words of Tupac "Keep your head up?" No body knows what you are going through. I would like to personally thank you for your personal contribution to uplifting Black women. Your album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" got me through some deep times (may be Pras could diagnose me as Bipolar, does anyone have his office hours?) in my life. I still use it to this day. I've hipped my daughter (age 16) to it. She loves it! Lauryn if you never put out an album again that would be entirely your progative. Don't sell your soul to the devil (unlike somebody else who shall rename nameles, but their name begins with P and ends with a S) to get attention. Lauryn I am a loyalist and forever a true fan. Side note to all the comments on your look: If people looked beyond the superficial they would see that you carry the true beauty of young mature mother.
It always blows my mind how people can call a person crazy, when they do not know a thing about the person, or the mental illness bipolar. I think that some people need to seek more info before you pass judgement on anyone.

To be honest the current state of hip hop is horrendous, all these male rappers are such a disgrace to the black communities, calling women bitches and whores, reminding us how much money they have and dropping designer names in their songs as if their lives are dependent on it. Lyrically, hip hop has lost its roots, it is now characterised by that materialistic fake Hollywood culture. This current music that is promoted by record labels and MTV is not pure hip hop and RnB, just garbage. I just see the degradation of women, promotion of violence and materialism in videos, what happened to the soul and the creativity. Lauryn speaks the truth, the reasons why hip hop was good back then it’s because it was seen as a political movement of black people. Record labels were afraid to promote it because it was seen as promoting black supremacy, instead it was pure, poetic and a true voice of the voiceless.
As for RnB, the black sisters have resorted to the portrayal of sex gimmick images, they just shake their bootys to sell records, and I see them more as video vixens than true artists. She was intelligent, street-smart, inspiring, charismatic, classy, politically and socially conscious; she was called beauty with brains. She created some magic in the music industry that most past and current artists have failed to capture, I mean Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and Beyonce won Grammys but their albums cannot be compared to the Miseducation and their talent can neither be compared to that of Lauryn Hill. I mean the unplugged album was severely criticised but it sold 5 million copies worldwide considering that she had no band and her voice was raspy, and most musical critics say it was more powerful lyrically than the Miseducation. The Mystery of Inequity was sampled by Kanye West and nominated for a Grammy without being played on any radio station, how impressive is that. Most of these current so called divas they can take off their clothes and degrade themselves further to sell records, but they will never sell 5 million copies with their studio produced albums. At one time Lauryn, pras& wyclef were all at the top of their game as one in the fugees and then seperately in their own endeavors. If Lauryn is indeed Bi-polar someone should try to get her the help she needs to help her acheive a somewhat normal lifestyle even if it isnt in the music world. I personally know 2 of her children bc they got to camp with my children at the south mountain ymca in maplewood nj. They are wonderful children and deserve better than someone bashing their mother. Despite what she is going through they are very pleasant children, well liked and very manerable. Their grandfather is even ok- even though he was always in a hurry when picking up the kids. If she needs help- try to help her instead of bringing her into a bigger depression. As for Lauryn’s clothes, even during the Fugees and the Miseducation era, Lauryn has never portrayed that idiotic Hollywood “it girl” image, she has always had that simple glamour that ordinary people can identify with, she was never a fashion follower but a trend-setter that is why we fell in love with her. I agree with 45, i have pictures of lauryn in brazil this year in june she still looks pretty and hot, it is so amazing how the media will take the most unflattering pictures of her when there are other pictures of the same concert that are beautiful.
