I personally believe Osama bin Laden is dead, and it's being covered up. There is no credible video of him since shortly before the 2004 Presidential election. There is no reason to say Osama died for them, it hurts there cause and helps Bush, so they've just covered it up. Cuba can do the same thing with Fidel. He doesn't make public appearances where he could collapse or be shot, so they can say whatever they want about him and announce his death when they are good and ready militarily to do so.

The US at that point should treat cubans just as people from any other nation, therefore all cuban's in the US that are not residents or citizens should be repatriated to cuba. Hopefully it happens before Bush's term is over, so he can do away with this policy.
On the other hand the US can just as well invade cuba and make it a US terretory much like Puerto Rico. But, I'm sure if the US invades cuba won't put up much of a fight.

I think you need to take a more holistic approach to the politics of Cuba and judiciously assess the pros and cons of his lengthy leadership. I am a proud Hispanic Canadian, and as such we more readily access balanced news and history as compared to the U.S. Remember that there is a macro context to everything, including how he is perceived, by whom, where, etc. particularly in Miami. A more comprehensive and thorough evaluation of the man would push others to become more politically aware and interested in the dynamics of power politics of which the U.S. and Miami are not immune. Have your opinion, but don't be so dismissive or irreverent regarding what compels political figures to act. Incidentally I am a social worker who is deeply committed to human rights, but that does not cancel out the realities of having to create and respond to other political power players.
