      Said the Whale is unreal! The harmonies and melodies are infectious. If you do not own their album you are missing out. Seriously the best indie band out there!!!!

      I don't think you people understand the concept of INDIE. They aren't an indie band because of how they sound, or the fact that people don't know them yet… INDIE is short for Independant… meaning they dont' HAVE a label. So comments like: "How much did their label pay you?"… make you sound stupid.

      I love all the people hating Perez for his taste in music. I'm sorry….but would you actually go up to someone who is listening to a type of music you don't like and tell them that they suck for what they like. It's completely unjust and rude.

      As for the "It’ll only get played up here because it’s Canadian content and it’s required by law for the stations to play that crap." That is almost a more stupid comment than the 'indie' one. Music is going to get played if people like it…not because of where they are from. It's on CBC radio 3 and people LOVE it, the hosts love it.

      You can like it or not, but say it in a way that doesn't make you sound completely uneducated.

      PS Spencer is awesome and he can kick your ass in a drumming contest anyday.

      This band is so far the only band I have liked that I've seen on Perez' blog, but I'm not going to hate on him for it.       1. Perez now gets paid for music to be featured on his site. This is a fact. I'm not saying he gets paid for ALL music on this site or for this particular band (it would be refreshing if he wasn't). But he does indeed get paid to push artists.

      2. Before you try to teach people what the word "indie" actually means, you should find out for yourself. Indie means on an independent label (not one of the major labels). That's how the word originated. It doesn't mean they have no record label. That's what the word "unsigned" indicates. Said The Whale is currently unsigned.

      I've been battling with music these days. Most of what is popular doesn't put enough time into lyrical content. Everything is on the nose and lacks any poetry. Lacks depth. Listening to Said The Whale's album gives me hope. Makes me happy that some people out there care about their art and don't want to half ass a passion. Great listen. Can play it over and over.
