Britney's Comeback Not Going As Planned

Britney Spears and her record label have effed up plans to work with hitmaker Ne-Yo, who wrote Beyonce's smash single Irreplaceable.
The singer/songwriter/producer was on Ryan Seacrest's radio show this morning and he explained what went wrong!
Says Ne-Yo:
"I have no idea what's going on with Britney Spears right now. The last thing I heard was that Britney was mad at me over some songs that were supposed to go to her that wound up going to Nicole Scherzinger. She got the first look. I wrote the songs for Britney Spears, but this was before she shaved her head and went into rehab again. Nicole took the songs and recorded them. Here's how it happened, I was working with Britney Spear's people. I wrote 6 to 8 songs for Britney Spears, working really closely with her A&R people at her label. Then Britney Spears goes ahead and shaves her head and goes into rehab. When that happened, I lost all contact with her A&R people, with her label. I was calling them, they weren't returning phone calls, wouldn't answer my calls. I'm like, 'Alright. I guess they're not interested anymore.' In the process of all that going on, that's when I met [Pussycat Doll] Nicole Scherzinger. She's like, 'Hey, I'm putting an album together, I'd love you to be a part of it.' I played her two songs, she loved them. They cut a check, she recorded the songs. Those are her songs. After that happened, that's when Britney Spears' people called me like, 'Hey, why are you giving away Britney's music?' I'm like, hold on. Y'all ain't cutting me no check!"

Try listening to the whole interview and not the segment that Perez posted. Ne-yo goes on talking about Britney and two songs in particular that are still on hold for her even after the fact that he gave some others away. There is no comeback. Her comeback is a myth-like the diet you'll start Monday, or the money you're going to save for a rainy day-its like the skinny jeans you haven't worn in 10 years just hanging there in your closet. Its everything you say you'll do…but you don't.
The reality is, this bitch sucks. Her album would have been out LONG ago but the record label knows that once that album hits stores it will be the final nail in her coffin. it kills me how all these people who obviously know nothing about how the record industry works talk out of their asses (artists included). if ne-yo offered songs to britney, there was surely a contract involved (trust babies, jive does NOTHING without a contract and their legal department is close to flawless). if he turned around and gave it to another artist, he is indeed breaching that contract and depending how aggressively the label wants to pursue the matter, he can possibly be sued over this.
that being said, THE LABEL (with some artist input, depending on the artist and how successful at picking tracks they are/have been) ultimately decides which tracks go on an album and which tracks get a pass. chances are britney probably didn't even get to read and/or pass on the songs. as for the a&r department not returning calls? please, they only do that on an as needed basis. in other words, we need you, we call you; otherwise don't call us. he needs to grow up and get a good lawyer to school him.
