The chipmunk toothed news anchor will also travel to Syria and beginning Tuesday she will anchor the evening newscast from Baghdad and Damascus.

I love Katic Couric. She is my role model and an inspiration to all. Her husband died of cancer and she has done A LOT to raise money and awareness of colon cancer. Reporting from the feild will give us a better perspective of the issues. Girls stop looking to whores like Paris and Lindsey as role models. Take a cue from Katie!

You never mention the fact that the CBS Evening News has been in third place since 1990, and although they certainly hoped new blood would turn their fortunes around, it might take more than just one year to reverse people's viewing trends. Do you ever actually watch the CBS Evening News? If you did, you would see a broadcast of great strength and seriousness of purpose, just as good if not better than the other two network's shows.

I like Katie, whenever I watch the evening news I tune in to her show for support. I'm not thrilled she's going to Iraq only because she's a single parent, but it's part of the job… How many of our single parent soldiers are over there doing their jobs while their kids are being raised by others???
