In a desperate attempt to gain ratings and claw her out of last place, the CBS Evening news is shipping Katie Couric to Iraq.

The chipmunk toothed news anchor will also travel to Syria and beginning Tuesday she will anchor the evening newscast from Baghdad and Damascus.

The bottom line is CBS needs to chill. Nobody is left with the clought that CHarlie Gibson has. So until Charlie resigns, he will be #1 as he should be. He is the best and Diane Saywer could pull it off better than Katie any day.

Katie couric is a wooden anchorperson who feels as though she's reading the news while being held hostage. Her phrasing has strange pauses and she delivers the news in a monotone without any excitement.

i don't believe sending anyone off into a war zone is a justified reason to boost your ratings. people need to know the real story of what's going on over there, and how they are taking care of our troops. it's not fair that america is told one thing when our government does another. my fiance is in the army and just got shipped out, he's not allowed to tell me anything that goes on. all i know so far is that he is safe. it'd be so much easier for families, friends and other loved ones to cope if they just knew how much actually goes on over seas. hopefully she won't fudge this up, it may actually be successful.

… katie has been through so much and is an example for younger girls and woman to keep trying and live life to te fullest…. maybe u should try to pay attention to REAL news instead of commenting on nice people like her. i mean u can shit talk all u want and honestly some of ur stuff is completely true and quite funny. but you shoudl really stay away from GREAT PEOPLE who do good things.

I've wanted to send a comment to CBS news about this. I don't really watch her on the news, but whenever I happen to catch her - I have to change the channel after a few minutes. I've finally figured out why. Her head is so distracting, I can't focus on what she's saying! Her hair is too light, her skin is too tan, her eye makeup, last I saw, was a shimmery shade of lilac, and her lips were an unfortunate (for her) shade of hot pink/purple. She needs a makeover, bad. Doesn't she have people to advise her? Everything (her hair, her makeup, her clothes) needs to be toned down and warmed up. She needs to use more natural/earthy colors, so that people can focus more on what she says and not be distracted by her unflattering and often clashing hair/makeup. (Can't really see in this photo, but if you see her on TV, I think you'll agree).

Girls are on fire!!!

We won't get to see how the ladies did until the fall, but today in Austin, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato took their seats as the new judges on The X Factor. Someone had the foresight of smuggling in a recording device to the Texas auditions and we've got the audio from the ladies' first critique!

And you know what? They sound like old pros!
