O.J. In Demand

oj-simpson.jpg

Though Barnes & Noble had previously stated that they would not be carrying O.J.Simpson's new "fictionalized" memoir, If I Did It, the book retailers are now saying that they will sell it in their stores.

But they won't be promoting it, as if that's supposed to make things better.

Barnes & Noble spokeswoman Mary Ellen Keating said: "We've been monitoring the pre-orders and customer requests and have concluded that enough customers have expressed interest in buying the book to warrant stocking it in our stores. We do not intend to promote the book but we will stock it in our stores because our customers are asking for it."

For days Simpson's book has been in the top 100 on Barnes & Noble.com and at one point even topped the best-seller list. If I Did It has also entered the top 100 on Amazon.com.

O.J. won't be making any money off the book, though.

Over the summer, a federal bankruptcy judge awarded rights to the book to the family of victim Ronald Goldman to help satisfy a $38 million wrongful death judgment against Simpson.

If I Did It will be published September 13th by Beaufort Books on behalf of the Goldman family, which considers the book Simpson's confession.

The family of Nicole Brown, the other victim, objects to its publishing.

If the Goldman's are going to make money on the book, then I think EVERYONE should go out and buy it. They deserve to get paid and the murderer will go ballistic having to see his book being a best seller and not make a dime!

I know I'll be reading that book! I want to know what his motive was! It's hard for me to believe that you would drive over to your ex wife's house and slit hers and her lovers throat for snubbing you earlier that day!

so the goldman's were outraged about the book coming out? NOOOOOO. they were outraged about OJ making money. now that it's their turn to cash in on the "tragedy", they can't wait for it to hit the shelves. they probably are planning on other merchandise like mousepads and visors. just like a bunch of jews.

THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM IS ANYTHING BUT JUST….
Americans are responsible for so many wonderful things that actually contribute to society but you will only ever be remembered for:
    CELEBRITY JUSTICE
    VIETNAM WAR
    IRAQ
    ASSASSINATION OF JFK

#28…..so you advocate filling our landfills with unread books? if you want to support the goldman's, send them a check. it's easier on mother earth and it won't encourage people to do this exploitative crap in the future. the goldmans should be ashamed of themselves.

  32. Perez Lover says – reply to this

I hope OJ Simpson rots in Hell!!!

  33. setting it straight says – reply to this

    33

#32…..the Brown family DOESN'T WANT MONEY OR THE BOOK PUBLISHED. they aren't money hungry jews like the goldmans. they were satisfied that the book wasn't coming out. but the goldmans could't wait to try to get rich quick. sick fuckers are just as bad as OJ.

  34. marc says – reply to this

    34

i'm conflicted with this because i feel as if the goldman family is cashing in on the murder. however, they deserve some sort of restitution for the fact that the scum bag killed their son. either way, i think people will hate him even more, which is a good thing.

OJ isn't getting publicity. the goldman's are. it's their book. i wonder what GOOD they will do with the proceeds. i'm guessing it's not going to charity.

  41. Chrissie Democrat says – reply to this

    41

I will buy it to support the families of the victims.

  42. Santos says – reply to this

    42

I'll buy the book now that I know OJ isn't going to get a dime from it.

  43. LOSER says – reply to this

    43

You know, I will say if the money is going to the Goldman family I certainly WILL buy it. Not to read it, but so they can make SOME of the money they won in the civil trial. If OJ was to make a PENNY off it no one should buy it. But as long as the money is going to a good cause, I say everyone should buy it. It would drive him insane knowing the book's title is "confessions of a double murder" and it's in his writing with additions by the Goldman family… I give major props to the Goldman family.
