Actually, moments before he said this, Kanye wouldn't give JohnJay or Rich anything controversial to repeat and stated that he doesn't and won't put anyone down. He then went on to wish 50 a successful album. Kanye wasn't even mad that his own album had leaked because he just wants people to hear and relate to his music. For those who say hip hop isnt music…these arent hip hop artist. Some of Kanye's music is hip hop. Rap is that mess you hear on the radio, why? Because that's what sells records. Hip hop actually has good content..its very political and in your face type of music. It also has clever metaphors and word play, more so than any other type of music. Hip hop is an art form and part of a culture that has meaning…people are just delusioned because they think hip hop is about guns, hoes, and all that other crap. Thats far from the truth. Most people who say that arent hip hop heads anyway. If anything, rappers are actually smart because they are starting their own labels, making a brand, and selling a fake lifestyle to a predominantly suburban demographic. They arent really like that. They're the only genre to still be making millions of dollars internationally off of one album. Get your facts straight though…hip hop has meaningful content. Pop rap [the stuff on the radio] is what most of you think is hip hop and is extremely simplified.
