A source close to Owen Wilson is denying multiple reports that the actor overdosed on Sunday, when he was rushed to the hospital. He is also denying that the actor had his stomach pumped.
He claims that Wilson had been taking anti-depressants, but was not aware of any other drugs in his system at the time of the incident.
Us Weekly has reported that Wilson has recently relapsed and has been abusing heroin and cocaine.
Wilson's lawyer did not address reports that his client slit his wrists in his suicide attempt.
Owen continues to recuperate and sources speculate to PerezHilton.com that he may already be transferred from Cedars Sinai Medical Center to a rehab facility.

I think this is why some many of the people in Hollywood do not seek help. They are afraid to reveal their truth. Owen Wilson is not just one of the people in this country that has attempted to take his own life, he is one of the THOUSANDS. I would love it if he could suck it up and tell the whole truth. If the full, ugly story is told than maybe his story could save others.

I agree with the lawyer, people taking multiple antidepressants or even antidepressants per se are really high risk for drug to drug or drug to food interactions. I am a nurse and I've witnessed these.

We're getting to the real issues here. He has had past experiences with substances because of a history of depression. Depression can be drug induced, alcohol induced but also can be caused by experiences, environment, etc.

Not for nothing y'all, if he was on junk, he'd be way too relaxed to be slitting his wrists. Unless he cut his wrist, and THEN shot up, but then again, not an easy task. You can't do both…if he toook too much junk to try to die, it would have been like 5-10 seconds MAX before he fell out.

I'll bet not ONE person on this board knows Owen Wilson personally. Not one. The assumption is that because he acts funny in movies, that he is funny in his every day life. Evidently he isn't quite so easy going. He seems to have only a movie career and not much else. Compare him to Matt D, Ben A, even Tommy Boy- they have some attempt at normalcy with families and real homes. He has a lot of reasons to be depressed. It's too bad. These actor playboys look up and suddenly they are 40 and all they have are their DVDs in the sale rack. I do feel sorry for him that he has all that money and no real happiness. Too bad. My friend's house is very near the hospital that owen wilson was taken to. Apparently, he had wraps around his wrists when they were coming out of the ambulance.
For what it's worth I do not believe they pump your stomach for OD's anymore, but, instead, you receive this horrible chalky stuff that makes you blow lunch or drugs.

Depression is an illness just like diabetes or anything else people are commonly treated for. Being rich doesn't fix it and being funny doesn't fix it. It is chemical and it is miserable to live with. Recovering and trying to improve your life is hard enough without hundreds of strangers gossiping about your every move.

Owen's lawyer is paid to research and report plausible excuses to cover his attempted suicide. There are physicians and nurses on the lawyers' payrolls for times just as these. For this reason and the fact that the lawyer did not address the slit wrists, I believe that Owen's lawyer is doing damage control.
Plus, I heard a while back that Owen was on heroin. Sometimes fast money and the Hollywood lifestyle can lead to the downfall of some of the best (or funniest) people.

I don't understand why it's his lawyer trying to deny all this shit. Shouldn't it be his publicist or his manager attempting damage control? Besides all that, his lawyer should stop bullshiting. Obviously this guy has some serious emotional problems, addictions, or demons, what do they think hiding this fact is going to do? Or maybe they just don't want to show that their cash cow is as vulnerable as the next person…which is sad. I think they are making a big mistake by trying to hide the truth. Owen needs to speak out about his problem(s), I think it would prove to be a creative outlet that might help him, and it may also help a lot of "normal" people see that even celebrities are humans who have problems, and to help us understand what types of problems they have. That said, I wish him the best, and hope that he recovers to the point where he is really WELL!

When Owen, Luke & Andrew come home for the holidays (to Dallas), or for any other reason, they don't try to play that "Hollywood" card and have everyone kiss their asses (in fact, they hate that stuff- they never mention Hollywood and we don't ask). They are the same dudes that they always were - good, loyal friends; extremely intelligent; courteous; pretty much all-around good guys from a great family with kind, concerned parents who love them. Whatever all you people believe the "truth" is behind these idiotic rumors, just let the poor guy alone to work out his problems with his family. I wish people would treat him the same way he was brought up to treat people, and the way he does to this day. sometimes when a person goes on antidepressants it makes them more depressed, and causes them to do things they wouldn't normally do. i hope they're looking at changing his meds or changing the dose of his meds. while it's more common for teenagers to become suicidal when they are on antidepressants, it also happens to adults. i hope he can sort it all out, he's given us a lot of joy over the years & deserves to be happy.

SSRI's make people feel worse.. Both my kids threatened suicide while taking SSRI's. One wanted the pills because they saw a tv adabout Social Disorder. The other kid was forced by the school for "behavior problems." Maybe the truth will finally come out about these drugs, since it happened to someone famous, someone that people really like alot. Vtech killer, Columbine, and going back 20 yrs. to the first "Going Postal" incident. SSRI's are the REASON these tragedies happen. Our bodies are screaming at us to wake up to enlightenment, and we drug ourselves instead to deal with our insane society. My best to Owen, may he see the light.
