Following his suicide attempt last Sunday, Owen Wilson was discharged from the hospital this past weekend.

"Owen is in bad mental shape but said he is thankful to be alive," a source close to the actor tells People. "He knows he came close to ending his life, and he is happy that he was saved from himself. He is basically at home with people watching him 24/7."

To all of you out there, it doesn't matter how much money you have or who you are. Mental illness is a disease that affects millions of people. This incident, I hope will unfortunately bring about more awareness about mental illnesses and suicide.

I also hope Owen didn't try this because of Kate Hudson. But if it was the reason, well, there are so many fish in the sea! When you're ready again, why not try a relationship with someone who stimulates you intellectually and spirtually instead of just physically? (Sorry, but Kate doesn't come across as much of a brain trust to me. Not blaming her for anything though!)

Now that Owen appears to be getting back on track, let's hope Luke isn't next to go off the rails. He hasn't been looking too well himself. I just want to wrap my arms around these guys and tell them everything is going to be okay.

I am so sick of hearing about Owen Wilson. What the fuck does he have to be suicidal about? I realize that he has it pretty rough, you know being a celebrity who makes millions of dollars and all. But I mean seriously. Was it Kate? Was it the drug addictions? Did he flub a big audition for one of his friends' movies? BIG WHOOP!!!! I am really thankful that their is still good media in the world! Thanks Perez for seeing this as what it is — a weak moment in a person's life. Every time I think about Owen Wilson's dark experience I feel sad. This just goes to show that people no matter how big or famous are just people. This is something that won't reck or help Owne's career. People will forget about this b/c it is something that all of us can relate to. Maybe not suicide part but the we all can definately relate to feeling low and empty at least once in our lives. It is only human!

Owen will get through this and be back on track soon enough! He just needs a hiadious.

Yes, indeed, his Guardian Angels made sure his brother found him and saved his life. The very good thing of this, is that, Owen "is thankful he is alive"–that is a good sign and shows he wants to be on the road to recovery.

Your movies have made me laugh so hard. Like Wedding Crashers, Meet the Parents and it's sequel, Zoolander, etc. Continue to surround yourself with people that love you and can support you through this difficult time. It was helpful to me when I was diagnosed with cancer last August and then had to endure 2 major surgeries, chemo (it's BAD) , the side effects of chemo, losing my job running a Doctor's office at 435 in Bev Hills, but ny family, a few friends and the church were there and never left. May God bless you.

I would be suicidal too if I had to look at the ugly broken schnoz in the mirror everyday…that he could well afford to fix.
