Whatevs. People who go to this kind of high-profile charity events only do it for the sake of their reputation and to feel good about themselves. They're not the ones doing the actual work. Paris is no exception.
If she really wanted to do good, she would go *incognito* to for example a shelter for abused women and help out the staff with some of the unglamourous stuff that needs to be done. Or get serious about raising awareness about *specific* issues. I mean: "children and families in need around the world"? Can this get any more vague?

Showing up for charity parties is NOT philanthropic work. Well, it would be if she were helping to serve food to the homeless or helping to build houses via Habitat for Humatnity. Sorry to disagree with you but showing up for charity parties IS philanthropic work. Some "humanitarias" serve food to the homeless but some give money to buy the food. Some build houses but some give the money so the houses can be build.
