      Broadway is dead.

Why don't they do Clueless the musical??

I mean the cast is bigger, there would be decent music, the set always changes.. Someone pitch this to the broadway people!!

News flash: the skinny in the theatre world is that this show sucks hardcore right now. They're trying desperately to work things out before it opens. So unless you're some twelve year old, or thirty year old still acting like a twelve year old, I'd say it won't be worth tuning in. Unless they can get their act together.

the producers have already issued the following statement earlier today

      catch up kids…

      "Wednesday, September 5, 2007
STATEMENT FROM THE PRODUCERS OF LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL:
“The report in today’s edition of The New York Post on Legally Blonde The Musical (“I ‘Blonde’ My MTV”) is premature. If an agreement is reached between the producers of the Broadway production and MTV to air a behind-the-scenes special and the production in its entirety, a detailed press release will be issued. There is no confirmed news to be reported at this time."

    30. Broadway says – reply to this

      30

For those of you who think Broadway is dead, have obviously not seen a Broadway show recently…I while agree Legally Blonde seemed like a ridiculous idea for a musical, but after seeing it I was OBSESSED, not only is the music amazing, the choreography is breathtaking (literally)…and Laura Bell Bundy is a true Broadway star…if you still think Broadway is so over, then I suggest you see Spring Awakening, because there hasn't been a musical since Rent that has caused such commotion in the younger generation. It has rock music, modern choreography, and themes that every teenager and adult can relate to.

    31. PAULETTE says – reply to this

      31

ummm ok some of you have been seriously miss informed! The show already opened (it opened last spring) AND had the most Tony award nominations of the year! Laura Bell Bundy is GREAT and the music is FUN! I can't wait to see the special!

Um, really? Because nothing sucks the life out of live theater more than broadcasting on TV? I don't know who comes off more desperate here: the show producers or MTV. Actually, it's a tie!

I saw this show and its horrible. They took the movie and put words to the lyrics…there is no originality. Poor girl is great but the show blows

      41

The worst Broadway show I have seen this year. "Oh my God, Oh my God you guys!!!"
The lead played Amber von Tussle, the villain, in "Hairspray".

By contrast, the woman who played Penny in "Hairspray" is starring in Xanadu: The Musical, right around the corner from Legally Blonde. It's a much better show.

Just like in Hairspray, Penny gets the better deal.

Seriously… before you all judge how stupid this may be, I urge you to listen to the music. It's a really really smart score… same people who did Bat Boy, which is also awesome. The movie is cute or whatever, but it's a great show.

Laura Bell Bundy is the biggest snottiest b*tch on Broadway. I've met her several times while waiting for Matthew Morrison (who btw, is a sweetheart) and she has been nasty every single time I've met her.

does anyone know if the girl who plays the lead's real name is Ashley something? There was a girl in the Grease: You're The One That I Want search that was the runner up and it looks like her from the picture. I was just curious. She was great on the show- really has talent. Let me know if anyone knows who I'm talking about. thanks!

    65. Parks says – reply to this

      65

For whoever was wondering who the girl is, her name is Laura Bell Bundy (in the picture above).

The show has been open on Broadway since April and has been one of Broadway's top grossing shows since it opened.

The stage adaptation stays pretty loyal to the movie, but does have a few things that are different.

The stage adaptation is not meant to be taken seriously or to be brilliant–it is just a very fun show with great music and dancing. The cast is terrific as well!

I'd say this is definitely worth tuning into, unless you feel you are above a little fluff! The opening number is titled "Omigod, You Guys," which is meant to be funny–and it is. The plot thickens as the story goes on, and there are some great songs in the show. Just give it a chance! Turn it on for 10 minutes, and if you hate it–you can then turn it off, but it really is a very fun show.

      I will go see
      Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Musical
but only if Rob Zombie has nothing
      to do with the production
because he will mess it up
and the music won't be happy
      and gay enough.
      Rob's dance numbers
      would be too heavy metal
      for Broadway.

And the models who you are expecting to see don't have the voices to sing/bodies to dance that most Broadway actors have!

Perez Hilton / Perez Sez is: Extremely ”Gay” and BORING!!! You acted like you have never seen an entertainer before and the excitement you felt being in the presence of a (real) star simply overwhelmed you. Perez, you are truly the “ONLY” person in the world making money (short lived I hope) for absolutely NO TALENT, NO CLASS, NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS and saying things to create turmoil, jelousy, bitterness, heartache, sadness….etc., of the people in the entertainment business,(who are the TRUE entertainers of America) and then you seem to think of yourself as a “STAR”!!! Perez, when it stops for you it will be VERY abrupt. It is honestly a wonder we have anyone who would want to entertain us with people like you. YOU ARE A VERY “LUCKY”, UNTALENTED TROUBLE MAKER. Sharon
