Unless they were doing it as a joke, My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way and his girlfriend got married on Monday night!
His band was opening for Linkin Park at the Projekt Revolution concert at the Coors Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado, sponsored by local radio station 93.3 FM.
After the show Gerard took the plunge with the bassist from the band Mindless Self Indulgence, Lyn-Z (Lindsay), also performing on the bill.
A staff member (Amy) from concert promoter Live Nation happens to be an ordained minister and married the young couple right back-stage.

Earlier this year, Mikey Way, the bassist for My Chemical Romance and brother of Gerard Way, also got hitched in a wedding after a show and was married by a pal who also happened to be an ordained priest.

I love MCR and Gerard Way and after all the crap the tabloids have put them through this year Gerard deserves to finally get away from the past and be happy and as much as I wanted him for myself, I wish them both a world of happiness because they obviously love each other. The people who insist on criticising them for getting married obviously aren't true fans of either band, because if they are a real of MCR they'd know what he's been through and would want him to be happy, just like MSI fans would want Lyn-Z to be happy, besides whoever is insecure enough to call either of them ugly well your probably not so pretty yourself inside and out. There's no reason to insult somebody just for finding happiness in another person, so grow up and ditch the insults.

I too was there and there was a rediculous number of proposals, including a bunch to both Gerard and Lyn-Z, but I don't remember a "Lyn-Z will U Marry Me?-Gerard" Unless that is the message went up AFTER the MCR show. I had no intention of hanging for Linkin Park bored off my ass after the rush of a MCR show, especially concidering I was in an uncomfortable outfit with horrifically painful boots.
I wish all the luck in the world to the couple but it seems a bit fast. I think Gerard is awesome and Lyn-Z seems pretty cool, even if she can't hold a candle to her man on stage…though I'm deeply biased. MSI is great, MCR is salvation…the fans now have to deal with eachother. (good luck, lol!) So long as she dosn't drag him back to drugs and alcohol…I give the union my blessings
